Game-Day Weather Update
I wanted to give an update to the Board regarding Saturday's weather. I just received a phone call from MGoKid today. She just issued a "No Fly Zone" for all Military Aircraft for the Carolina's. She suspects this "No fly Zone" will grow as the week progresses. This storm is gaining strength.
Now her forecast is slightly different from the Hurricane Center; however, she says the rain total will increase in the DC area. She maintains her original forecast that the center of circulation will remain off the coast due to the High Pressure system in-land. So the heavy thunderstorms should not affect the coast.
Her prediction is there will be very limited lightening, if any. However, 6" of rain from this storm is likely.

your gear. Michigan residents will start paying taxes for amazon purchases begining October 1st.

Illinois residents have been paying sales tax for online purchases, even for online retailers without a physical presence in the state, since Feb 1 of this year.

It was only a matter of time before they'd tax it. I buy most items online myself simply 'cause I've found I can get better prices online vs. a brick and mortar store plus pay no sales tax. Time to reassess.

Wow, that is an unlikeable photo. Fleck may as well go full douche by turning his wrists and extending his thumbs to rock the double guns.

But what does it mean? I need rampant speculation about game time movement and location alternatives

It means I no longer regret not buying a ticket when they were still under $100 and will be happily watching the game at RFD in Chinatown.

My BFF just cancelled his trip out from Detroit. He's afraid he'll be stranded at the airport indefinitely! Stay dry, my friends!

It not really where the storm ends up, but what the authorities do.
They closed the DC and other airports 36 hours before Sandy arrival and shut down the governement services - the business for the most part closed too, although in the end there was minimal impact on DC from the actual storm.
This means nobody could be flying out of the east coast Sunday-Tuesday.
If you are flying in to the game, prepare for being stranded 2-3 extra days. Extra hotel $, clothes, etc.

I have to be in DC for a conference starting tomorrow and ending Saturday afternoon. I thought about staying for the game but I had a committment with my son I couldnt get out of so I am coming back to Ohio.
I know have to return flights booked - one on Saturday afternoon around 4:00pm and one Friday night around 8:30 but I backed the whole mess up with a one-way rental car too.
My guess is I'll be driving home. This baby looks like a mo-fo.

MGoKid is suggesting you drive and not chance it with a flight. She says that if the current track hold, she will issue a "No Fly Zone" for Military Aircraft in the next 24 hours.
The Military is a little more cautious because they can move aircraft a little more easily. The FAA always waits to the last minute due to the large volume of flights in and out of DC.
Her advice: Drive.

Where is the MGoKid projecting this thing on Saturday? The NWS still has it projected well off the coast on Sunday AM.

Fly it over MSU and OSU and drop some ordinance.
Before it rains.

That's DC for ya. They'd close schools based on a weather forecast of snow... In turn you'd get like 2 flakes and a 50* day and the kids (and parents) all have the day off for no reason.
September 30th, 2015 at 3:01 PM ^
if airports are shutdown the football team could be stranded there. Unless they wanted to take a loooong bus ride home.
