OT - If You Could Switch Professions, What Would it Be?
Mates,
We enjoyed a great topic earlier this week with the 'Roll Call'. So next question: If you could change occupations from what you do now to what you think you would like to do in a near-perfect world (no jobs available in the adult film industry, you rogues), what would that new occupation be? Extra credit given for humor, the 'why' of the new occupation, and if you are actually taking any steps toward this new job.
Happy weekend and go blue.

This was me three years ago, before I left my law firm to do a tech startup. It's hard to beat the law firm salary, but I wouldn't go back for anything.
What do you do now?

I'd have the ability to identify, ban, & punish people who commit crimes of trolling, spamming, glurging, idiocy, bigotry, or bad formatting.
I'll consider appeals with the appropriate demonstration of contrition and reform.
Entire websites will be tumbleweed-ridden silent wastelands, but many will be vastly improved. You will be able to read the comments section of your online newspaper again.
Bleacher report will probably not survive, and it's looking grim for RCMB.
"bad formatting" oh the irony
When I get my powers I expect a package of licorice as an apology out of you, Mr On Notice.
That's a job right? I guess you gotta wear a suit tho.
OK, how about Organic TechnoFarmer by day, theoretical physicist by night.
Shouldn't the techno farming be done by night? The glow sticks and strobe lights are much more impressive when it's dark.
Well played.
Get paid seven figures to go to the biggest college football game each week. Spend the other six days at my 2,600 acre ranch in Montana.
Either that or a beer taster, Norm Peterson style.
I always wanted to own a very small beach side bar/restaurant on an island somewhere. Only need to work the afternoons/evenings, make enough money to stay comfortable and enjoy a relaxed life living in a stress free environment. Unfortunately I'd never be brave enough to break away from the sociatal constructs that have set me on the path I'm on. Oh well
Superpowers and not a lot to do... Win-Win.

Architect and real estate developer.
Professional Philanthropist. I think Bill Gates needs some competition.
A crew member on the set of various Food Network cooking shows.
I would love to go back to teaching pilot training in the Air Force Reserve, but that's out for a variety of reasons.
The other one would be starting a small flying school out in Colorado/Wyoming. Now to just convince my wife that we can live in a small town and just above the poverty line so I can chase my dream of living with almost no responsibility!
1. Can't believe no-one has said it so far, but the classic little-kid "I wanna be an astronaut" feeling has stayed with me. How about becoming the first man on Mars? That's be pretty cool. As long as I could get back.
2. Railroad baron like this guy:
3. Business management/strategy prof (I am getting my MBA so who knows.)
Starting MLB Pitcher (successful).
Talk about a cushy job.
That or inheriter of a massive fortune.
In terms of reality - I'd love to work at Valve software.
