Paul Mcartney?? LOLOLOLOL. Man you guys are killing me today. Has anyone heard that steaming pile of doo doo Paul is working on now with Kanye. It's sooo bad, I feel embarrased for both of those marks.

I liked the sharks. I think Malcolm Butler's vision he couldn't explain was the talking sharks telling him Pete Carroll and the Seahawks were going to throw in that situation.

A few thought it was a great halftime show and a few other people are calling those people morons for liking it. Yep, sounds like every message board thread on the Internet.

confused when Missy Elliott was on with the....whatever those shirst were...and her off lip synching and not being able to understand one word of it that I thought "this must be what it is like to have dementia." I had to turn it off.

Yea half of one of Missy's songs she sings backwards, so that combined with the noise and everything can make it for one confusing show.

U2 is a terrible band.
The Katy Perry show was phenomenal. Why do you think the effects were overdone? They looked amazing. That 3D stuff on the field is what the Cavs use during their player intros. It looks really cool. I say this as a fan of Katy Perry, though. Not only is she fine as hell, but I like her hit songs.

Honestly, no idea what was the point of having Lenny Kravitz there. And Missy Elliot did well, but her act didn't fit in at all with the Katy Perry stuff....it was just a very strange juxtaposition. Though I suppose it gave Katy Perry a mid-performance break before her finale.

I was impressed at how she was able to change costumes, and how they changed the set, multiple times in what was a 12-13 minute production. There were a couple of times when I was thinking "Whoa, how'd they pull that off"?

I continued my streak of hitting the mute button as soon as the half was over. Don't care about the halftime show at all. I don't think I missed anything. I was at work, so I just went about working. When I have been at home I've just provided my own halftime music show... which is better than anything I think they could pollute my ears with anyway.
The shark costumes looked cool, but I bet they were still cooler with the audio muted.

Whatever you think of her music the whole thing was delightfully entertaining, which is all it's supposed to be. No one's there for high art or musical sophistication. The fireworks part was pretty awesome.

It was decent. Needed more cleavage IMO. Bruno Mars was way better last year.

Show was good. If you had it on mute. The sound was horrible. Could not even hear what they were singing. Lenny wasn't even playing his guitar it wasn't even plugged into anything. And he didn't even sing one of his songs.

I and everyone else in the room were too busy shouting "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!" to hear her actual voice.
Not a Katy Perry fan at all, but it was a damn fine spectacle.

I'm not a Katy Perry fan but her show was well done. I liked the trippy asynchronized dancing sharks and the dazy, dreamy beach balls. I really would have loved to see more Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott ... they were my favorite parts. I was surprised to see Lenny showing more chest than Katy, who was rather demure. In the end, my ears were rebelling against the perky pop assault and I craved some Soundgarden and Metallica to kill the earworms.
My favorite past halftime shows:
2002 U2
2007 Prince

People would probably be ok with just fireworks and/or explosions.

The NFL has so much invested in this "spectacular" event that it had to have a middle of the road performance that would not offend anyone, yet somehow producie a spectacular entertainment event.
It seems to me that Katy Perry delivered the intended objective. It's sort of hard to not like her.
She was probably the best guest prognosticator on College Game Day in the past several years.
