META: Your favorite MGoBlog posters of the past

Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

Saw an interesting exchange in the THE HARBAUGHING thread I started earlier and though i would open it up into its own thread for discussion.

Veteran members, lurkers-now-posters. Who are your favorite posters of the past? These can be guys that got banned, Bolivia'd or just stopped posting on the site and moved on with life unannounced.

If you have any old timey or famous threads from the past, post those also. I'm in the mood for a laugh and want to be entertained.

My favorite that amused me quite often was Section 1. Not sure what happened to him. Why is he my favorite?

It's easy. The 20 page Rich Rod wars he started in threads. Also his blatant stepping over the line into the No Politics zone that got others riled up.

2 things:

1)  I feel like people have forgotten about my douchey mgoblog users post, which is sad, that was my moment of infamy

2)  We should do another Where to eat in Ann Arbor post, that was fun and there are a bunch of new restaurants since then, plus old ones that have gone downhill or gotten better

The post I always remember for you was the one where you tried to convince everyone that the order of operations were open to interpretation in that algebraic equation that was posted on the board. You against the world. Edit: wasn't you, was wlubd. Not sure why I thought it was you. Still, that thread devolved quick - worth revisiting. http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/ot-sparty-no-i-cant-believe-what-we-are-aga…

but i have another question:  how about some detective work on who got sent to bolivia/ban-hammered and what their new name and avatar are.   kind of like a game of cyber-clue.   you know, that colnel mustard is really the former miss scarlet, type of stuff.

I really hope someone can remember who this guy was.

He was not my favorite, but this one guy had one of the best meltdowns of all time.

It was back when the site just switched over from halocan. I don't remember his name, but he was a lawyer.

He was being a troll so someone found out who he was based on his account name. Naturally someone posted the link to some site that had his picture. Someone said he looked like a pedo and he went crazy and threatened to sue everyone that said he looked like a pedo.

Profiles In Cronyism: Brady Hoke

Overall Attractiveness: Awful. Awful, awful, awful. The worst possible candidate. The mere idea this guy -- who's never even been a coordinator anywhere and has his MAC team performing at a level well below the program's historical baseline -- could get the job is infuriating. Only at Michigan could this happen, and if it does I guarantee you that Bo is going to haunt the mofo that signs the contract.

Better that Debord? No. Absolutely not better than Debord. The functional equivalent of Debord and a guy who would either keep Captain Failure or bring in Stan Parrish. If Hoke is hired there will be a riot, and with good reason.

Fiascotime Post-Mortem

This is incompetence of staggering proportions. If Martin was a president, he would be William Henry Harrison. If he was a world-changing invention, he would be a Segway. If he was a football coach, he would be Charlie Weis.

The current face-saving explanation is that Martin is playing Ferentz and Miles off each other, hoping one will jump at a lowball offer loaded with incentives. When even the face-saving explanation paints you as a fool willing to let one million dollars per year jeopardize the well-being of an entire athletic department, you screwed up. Michigan's chances at landing Miles are now much weaker than they were a week ago, and it's because Martin blew the most important decision in Michigan athletics since 1969. Because he was on a damn boat too busy to return a phone call.

He has a chance to make good with an excellent hire; anything short of that and he should be run out of town on a rail.

I loved the searchbits, but the first coaching search was just a complete roller coaster that it's hard to believe it actually happened.

There was a guy who used to post here named UltramarineBlue that I miss. His insights were amazing--incandescently brilliant, no jive. Good looking cat and, supposedly, he has a huge penis. I wonder what happened to that guy...

Me too. The WLA ran the board back in the haloscan days. The kids these days have no respect for handle jacking and no sense of humor. Everyone is so touchy and sensitive and no one wants to discuss anything it's all just #hottakes
