Here's the thing: I'll take anything that chips away at the SEC-uber-alles nonsense. I'll also take anything that chips away at the notion that the B1G is a steaming pile of Weis droppings.

OSU and MSU did the conference a solid today. And in the long run, MSU won a bowl game that is otherwise meaningless, and OSU is taking their third-string quarterback into the Oregon buzzsaw to lose a game everyone expects pretty much any team to lose. This isn't a terrible scenario.

thats different. ohio state winning the big ten title game didnt do anything positive for the big ten. ohio state beating bama is huge.

yeah, ohio was supposed to lose to bama, but oregon is very good. a close win over bama is one thing, but oregon completely demolished fsu.

Hopefully they get crushed by Oregon. I'll take an Ohio St playoff, MSU bowl win, Wisconsin bowl win over 2 SEC teams and a Big 12 powerhouse if it means the Big Ten can get some respect...

I always said I would never do it, but it got to the point where the Big Ten got so bad during the season that the conference looked pathetic. I will cheer for the Big Ten in bowl games over other conferences if it means we play in a respected conference...I mean, we were being compared to the MAC this season (and the some of the comparsions really favored the MAC). I can stomach a good day for our rivals if it means we go into 2015 with a competitve conference and a great coach. How can you not get excited for a competitve conference with Harbaugh, Meyer, Franklin, Dantonio at Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Sparty? The Big Ten East could be amazing pretty soon. That will be fun to watch.

This day sucked a little. Oregon looked straight-up machine-like, though. Would not be shocked if they made OSU look like FSU on the 12th.

As for State, remember, as we've heard since September: "Brah, we were better than Oregon for three quarters." So by their own rationale, Baylor kicked the piss out of them.

When I try to combine Oregon's performance and Ohio State's performance in my mind and extrapolate a game, I actually see scenarios where this one could be eerily close because in some respects it is a good matchup. Of course, I also see scenarios where the Ducks could win by the factorial of the number of points they scored last night, so either way this will be an interesting one.

As long as Oregon beats OSU the invincible mystic of the SEC getting torn asunder the last two days, culminating in the crown jewel of that conference (Alabama) getting beat by Ohio State in the semis is fine by me. Still a bit irritated about Baylor blowing a 20 point lead to fucking Sparty.

Really I don't care either way. OSU, Bama, Meteor.... it's all the same man. What get's me is that apparently all of my Ohio friends are on the Ohio State football team roster. I never would have guessed that Urban was recruiting fat, arthritic, middle aged men and women to play on the team.
