Only right answer always is....
To Hell With Notre Dame!!!
September 13th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
To HELL with FIG-THINGS!
September 13th, 2022 at 2:39 PM ^
Amen EGJ
my confidence is unshaken - I am still confident they suck
September 13th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
To hell with Notre Dame.
September 13th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
I wish these surveys would show results. Rather unsatisfying.
September 13th, 2022 at 12:46 PM ^
This feels more like you wanted us to see your not-really-all-that-funny "answers" instead of something you legitimately thought we should direct our attention to.
September 13th, 2022 at 12:54 PM ^
Maybe a bit harsh, no?
September 13th, 2022 at 2:29 PM ^
I was actually hoping to read others much funnier than I responses to the questions. I included the questions to be informative - trying to encourage others to share.
September 13th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
It’s increased my confidence we can be the buckeyes. I could give two shits about ND.
September 13th, 2022 at 12:56 PM ^
I have little interest in be-ing them
September 13th, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
Well sir, that is two more shits than I would care to give them.
September 13th, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
I think they are at the maximum shit reception level already
September 14th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
Although I could care less, I’d be lying if I said that seeing Cajun Kelly fail and Buckeye fans questioning their win doesn’t bring me joy. Especially since this is “the most talented buckeye team ever” with a “top 5 defense”.

Things are so bad that touchdown Jesus will be recommissioned to show him punting.
September 13th, 2022 at 3:48 PM ^
He's in the transfer portal.
September 13th, 2022 at 3:55 PM ^
Boston College is rumored to be making an offer!
September 13th, 2022 at 12:53 PM ^
I'm confident that they were competitive enough vs Marshall to be offered a spot in the MAC.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
MAC sounds about right. Definitely not FunBelt material.
September 13th, 2022 at 12:54 PM ^
NDs loss to Marshall has increased the confidence(as fan/observer) for one of UMs games later this year!
September 13th, 2022 at 1:36 PM ^
Reminder: this same Notre Dame team was up 10-7 on the Buckeyes IN COLUMBUS at the half.
September 13th, 2022 at 2:50 PM ^
Yea yea and one *could* transitively say MSU has been better than UM every season by one comparison path or another, but we know that isn't the case
September 13th, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
Honestly, this is pretty standard for ND. I wasn't surprised at all. They always get bit by a small-conference or non-blue blood team at home. Last year they lost to Cincinnati (who turned out to be legit good) but also sweat out a close win against Tulsa (they lost to Tulsa at home in 2010). In the past 15 years or so they've dropped a lot of these games: they've lost at home to Syracuse, UConn, Duke, South Florida and Navy (numerous times). This is just their Return to Glory!
September 13th, 2022 at 5:37 PM ^
I think this is the whole reason the dropped us. They'd lose a huge national matchup and then we'd end up being "womp womp" and make it even worse for them.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:34 PM ^
She's probably now a regional director of sales for some Big Pharma outfit.
Also, when can we retire "To hell with Notre Dame!" ? It has less impact with every additional use and it's from a semi-disgraced former coach.
September 13th, 2022 at 4:06 PM ^
It apparently has worked since it would seem that Notre Dame currently is in hell.
So, perhaps we should now just say... "Stay in hell Notre Dame!".
September 13th, 2022 at 1:02 PM ^
Brian Kelly may have been a dick but he won a lot more than he lost, even making NC game and playoffs. Plus, he worked his way up from GVSU to CMU to Cincy.
Freeman looks like a guy who should have been learning as a HC at a MAC or Mountain West school, at least for a few years. ND is not the place to learn on the job. Charlie got lucky that Tyrone left him a QB and a lot of talent. Once he had to recruit his own QB (Jimmy C) he found things got ugly soon.
One can only hope the meltdown continues - hoping for losses from UNC, BYU, USC, Clemson, and Cuse. 5-7 and no bowl (unless something weird happens with the 6 win teams).
Cal is a crapshoot since they haven't played anyone, but I expect ND to bounce back this weekend.
As for recruiting, they will ALWAYS get a plethora of 4 and 5 star guys. It's guys like CJ Carr that I want to see waver and come back into the fold.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:08 PM ^
C.J.
Come home to Michigan.
September 13th, 2022 at 4:17 PM ^
Dear Jeremiyah Love,
The best players in Missouri play for Michigan.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:12 PM ^
If Jayden Davis decides to go with the good guys, I highly doubt that CJ would consider switching to Michigan. It's still early, but Jayden seems like the kind of guy that if he chooses Michigan, he'll be all in on us as well.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
Freeman's QB is out for weeks with an injury now as well. Can he win enough games with the backup to keep his job? we're about to find out.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:34 PM ^
Punt, I read ND’s starting QB is out for the season… not a few weeks. Their O is going to struggle.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:35 PM ^
And that starting QB wasn't good anyways.
Against OSU:
10/18 for 177 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTs.
Against Marshall:
18/32 for 201 yards with 0 TDs and 2 INTs.
He ran for 2 TDs against Marshall but overall that's not good. So you're going from meh QB to his backup. Not looking good.
September 13th, 2022 at 10:04 PM ^
I can list four ND quarterbacks in the past 30 years that have been at least decent -- Jack Coan (Wisconsin mostly developed him), Ian Book, Brady Quinn (meh) and Ron Powlus (double meh). But that's about it.
Notre Dame has not had great success at the QB position in a long, long time. I guess CJ Carr seeks to be that guy but there's not a good historical precedent, at least in recent times that most people can remember.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Let CJ Carr go to Marshall. Hoping for Davis.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:46 PM ^
I always root for Black coaches, so I feel bad for Freeman. And I don't think that a close loss to OSU and a wipeout against Marshall prove that Freeman can't coach. (Lloyd could coach, even if he was a bit of a lemon-sucker; he lost a couple of doozies.)
But a down decade for ND in which, eventually, they join the B1G with their lizard tails between their legs. . . I am down for that.
September 13th, 2022 at 2:08 PM ^
I don't think anyone is doubting Freeman's coaching abilities. I do think it's fair to question whether he's up to the task of taking over a program as steeped in tradition and scrutinized as much as ND in his first HC go-round. That is the point that tybert is making; usually a hot-shot coordinator such as Freeman has to spend a minute cutting his teeth at a G5 or lesser P5 before making the jump to the top tier.
September 13th, 2022 at 3:46 PM ^
I always liked Marcus, but I did think this was too much too soon. The biggest proof is that he keeps hiring his old teammates instead of established position coach. It really shows by his retaining Tommy Rees.....also looks like their OL coach has issues also.
September 13th, 2022 at 5:06 PM ^
Bux, respectfully, their OL coach shouldn’t be in the list. It’s OL talent development - and what has happened in OL recruiting over the past four years. Their OL coach - who was there for about 8 years - returned as OL coach after several seasons in the NFL.
While in his first stint - he was turning out NFL draftees every year.
The challenge - is recovering from less than ideal recruiting and player development over the past four years. And, as Michigan fans - it’s something I believe we can relate to. Last season - was the first solid OL Michigan had under Harbaugh’s tenure - and, I think the foundation is finally there for continued success in the future.
September 13th, 2022 at 7:33 PM ^
Great points amazin....I thought the O line coach was a holdover. I thought they always had a bunch of linemen drafted.
September 16th, 2022 at 8:01 PM ^
I do think that people are doubting (and I'm not implying that they're racist). I also think that most people would describe what's on your list there as "coaching." And I guess we're gonna find out. Definitely starting behind the eight ball now. . .
September 13th, 2022 at 2:35 PM ^
Freeman was the hire to save the recruiting class and players choice. I understood why Swarbrick went with Freeman but that's a big job considering the lack of experience. It might still work out but I will never hope ND is anything but broken.
September 13th, 2022 at 2:46 PM ^
Agree with both of these - ND should have waited for Fickell to free up after the playoffs and hired him. He is clearly more than ready to make that step.
Freeman would have been a great candidate for Cincy. Instead, ND took the shortcut and went with a guy that had no experience as a head coach and only spent 1 year in South Bend.
Hopefully it fails (from a Michigan recruiting perspective). Freeman will end up as Bama's D-Coordinator in 2 years before getting his next coaching gig when he's ready.
September 13th, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
Freeman was Notre Dame's DC under Kelly and a finalist for the Broyles before Kelly bolted. Basically he's Josh Gattis if Harbaugh had bolted for the Vikings and Gattis had been promoted to HC.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:03 PM ^
The more important question is if we can infer anything about Ohio State vis a vis Notre Dame's loss to Marshall. My answer would be: probably not.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:16 PM ^
Zhou, I don’t think there’s much to infer - but, as I noted last week - ND’s offense is predictable - more run than pass. And, ND’s D might be “ok” - so, what does that say about the Bucks O? Personally, I was expecting more from the Bucks O in their game against ND.
The Bucks D may be talking longer to grasp Knowles D than many think. The Bucks visit to EL will be worth watching. And, the Badgers visit to the Shoe might be fun to watch too - I would guess that Wisconsin game will be an indication of the Bucks DL.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
Wisconsin will need to be a helluva lot better than it was against Washington State to give Ohio State a game.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:34 PM ^
If the Bucks lose to the Badgers, they will probably take it out on the Spartans, but if the Bucks beat the Badgers then the Bucks might look passed the Spartans to the Bucks matchup with the Lions a couple of weeks later. Then again, if the Spartans are undefeated, they may have a lot of incentive to try to beat the Bucks to gain the upper hand on the Bucks in the Big Ten East. My guess is that the Bucks will beat all of those scrubs, and that the Bucks will be ready when the Bucks play the Wolverines in The Game.
Bucks.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:38 PM ^
Indy and 330, I expect the Bucks to defeat the Badgers - the game’s in the Shoe - and, IMO - Wisconsin’s D will struggle with the Bucks O.
The matchups I’m interested in - is the trenches. How will the Bucks lines - both O and D - look against a B1G line.
September 13th, 2022 at 1:30 PM ^
I will never judge OSU by their play against other teams after 2018.
