[Edited title and content to provide correct link and to clarify that this is NOT about the Mid American Conference and that MACtion has not yet been postponed or cancelled.]
Wow I clearly forgot how to embed on this board, here's the link: https://twitter.com/gomacsports/status/1286647324429520897
Someone more capable than me please embed
Your lack of embedding skills are the least of this post's problems.
IM going to put this here edit or no edit.
Is it true when they decided they were only going to let 5,000 spectators in to see MAC games Eastern Michigan was scrambling trying to figure out how to get up to that number?
Middle Atlantic Conference.
Well he's not wrong. ?
Neg bomb, incoming.
You fucking varmint lol
I was devastated for EMU for a second.
Probably would have been important to note this is the D3 Middle Atlantic Conference.
Psshh details schmetails
In my not so humble opinion, one had better get used to the idea of watching pro sports until a vaccine is found.
NOOO!!!!!
Pro sports largely suck - the NFL in particular is virtually unwatchable in it's conformity to every team being the same thing! Retreads everywhere! It's a free country, maaannnnnn - I can watch college sports if I want! You can't stop me, I have RIGHTS!!!
You’ll watch the CFL & like it.
I wonder what the ratings will be like for baseball, basketball, and possibly the NFL. I can only speak for myself when I say that for some reason, the cumulative impact of Covid has greatly reduced my give-a-shit about sports in general. It feels really unrelatable and arbitrary to me now.
So weird how everyone is just assuming there will ever be a vaccine
I just use an IV drip of neat UV light to quell this bad boy
Headlight to the lungs doesn't work. Has to be intravenous like the snake oil I invented. Thankfully Twitter and YouTube were there to prove me right.
via brochoscopy if i remember correctly....havent looked into in a while. Dont ignore the science. in fairness Mr Trump probably had no idea research was already in process when he said it. Doesnt change that it could be useful in future.
I agree. The “wait til a vaccine to reopen” crowd could be waiting, quite literally, forever. It’s just not a reasonable expectation.
Boosting one's immune system is an excellent option. Eat better, exercise more / manage your stress and get adequate sleep. Also, practice good hygiene by washing your hands, caughing/sneezing into your arm and staying home if you are sick. All things we should be doing anyway.
Nice thought, very practical and makes sense but logic doesn't rule for the many.
I think many people fail to realize the momentum, amount of resources, and number of entities working on producing covid vaccines. The effort working on this one single disease probably dwarfs that which has been done on some other diseases in recent history.
Just to see what is out there "officially":
Multiple vaccines (of varying effectiveness) will probably be available to use by next year, if not sooner.
That being said, a vaccine is not necessary for civilization to adapt and continue beyond this pandemic, but it helps.
Pfizer, Johnson&Johnson, AstraZeneca comes to mind-but, who cares?
And if a vaccine is never found? Might as well shut every sport down permanently.
Wow, given all the inflammatory shit-posting that this board has seen since COVIDAGGEDON, I thought it would be hard to sink lower. But somehow, this "worst-titled post ever" does it!
When Pennywise, live from a sewer near you, shits on your post you definitely should feel bad.
Until this was clarified - I wanted to ask: "Hasn't Akron suspended their football season for years now?"
LOL
Need a mom to clarify the original post.
Done!
Earning that paycheck today my dude
Paycheck, LOL.
For everyone's enjoyment, here's a Paycheck for the board:
PS: This is NOT a notice of resignation.
You're a good Mom...
The MAAC?
Nope, that is yet another conference (one I've actually heard of, b/c of basketball, e.g., John Beilein's old school Canisius is in it).
TIL there is a "Middle Atlantic Conference"
In other breaking news, the B13G is not playing fortball this season.
14 Pennsylvania schools, 2 Maryland, 2 New Jersey. That is all. Gimme my points.
So as I was about to pontificate on how Eastern Michigan continues to blow a golden opportunity by not calling their sports teams the Emu's, I see this is unnecessary. Is there a Middle Atlantic school that should rename their teams by an animal which shares the annogram as it's actual name? Like, if (fictional school? I made up) Carolina Agricultural & Technological was called the Eagles instead of the Cats.
