09/10/2018 - 12:43pm Alright, so I was on the…

Alright, so I was on the sideline for this game and talked to one of the refs during the game shortly after this attempt.

Being a Florida staffer, I was displeased with the call but he explained it to me pretty well. It's not reviewable which is dumb but unless it's clear that the whole of the ball would have been inside the pole, they have to say it's no good. He conceded that it was close and probably would have been in had the poles been extended but since it passed over the top without clearly being inside, they had to call it a miss. Chalk it up to a weird trajectory on the kick. But yeah, that miss definitely hurt and killed the team's energy (if they had any to begin with). Kentucky...yeah.

Nah that's just the nature of camp. I'm working for a different college team right now and they've lost a couple significant contributors to injury during fall camp, one of which might be out a significant amount of the season

Uhh there isn't always news to talk about throughout the summer that hasn't been beat to death a million times?

And instead of complaining about the lack of threads about news you've heard, why don't you start one about it then?

USA Today is a garbage "newspaper" and this list is just dumb.

I don't understand how you can put Miami and Miami Beach on a list like this ranking as worse than Gainesville, FL. Gainesville is a shitty trashy Ann Arbor and there is no way in hell Miami is a worse place to live. Hell, rent in downtown is relatively cheap compared to other big cities around the country

PSG fan here - he'll hopefully do a lot better for you lot. He couldn't handle the personalities of our team. Arsenal will be a bit easier for him to manage I'd imagine. He's a good manager, just didn't fit at PSG at all

04/30/2018 - 7:22pm It shouldn't really matter

It shouldn't really matter because by nature the MLB doesn't actually use its antitrust exemption. Currently, the independent leagues aren't really rivals so the antitrust policies don't make a difference.

The MLB being a monopsony and the abolishment of the reservce clause makes antitrust regulations obsolete.

But this case isn't really about that so who knows what will happen

02/13/2018 - 2:09pm General lack of football talk

General lack of football talk because there's nothing to talk about.

Discussion is kind of in a holding pattern until the coaching staff is finalized and everything about recruiting this class ended in December. Early signing day was our entire class. Do you want to talk about losing Otis Reese? I don't.

There are other sports happening. Diversify.

02/12/2018 - 12:56pm All Jets jokes aside, their

All Jets jokes aside, their offense was surprisingly ok last season with Josh McCown's corpse at QB. This wouldn't be bad. Hell, I'd probably prefer this over McElwain

01/31/2018 - 1:07pm Didn't have any college

Didn't have any college fandom or anything growing up as I moved around and one of my parents didn't go to college in this country.

As soon as I got my admission from Michigan, I started reading mgoblog and now I've racked up a whole 1000 points after 2 years of lurking and many more of not posting with an account

Might want to add Roy Roundtree to the former players coaching category. I think he's the WR coach at Indiana St. Check his Twitter

12/16/2017 - 3:08pm I pretty much agree. I'm not

I pretty much agree with the blog being a little sad lately. I'm not a big poster at all, I'll just usually chime in here and there on a post but this board has been filled with toxic negativity this year (2017 as a whole, not just football season).

I don't think it's a mod problem, those guys are unpaid volunteers that do a pretty good job of getting rid of the trolls and such, but there isn't much to be done about off-topic discussion. This isn't reddit where you can upvote and downvote comments and the good rises to the top. Now, maybe that's part of the redesign? If so, that sort of thing would be nice, or at least a way to follow threads more easily.

I think the point minimum needs to be raised for sure, it's awfully easy to get 100 points nowadays compared to the "+1 Informative" days. Other than that, I don't really know what can be done. It seems like it's mostly a fanbase problem. Harbaugh probably brought in more casual fans into the mix that aren't rational and will complain about everything, some warranted, some not.

Brian, Ace, Seth and the rest, y'all are doing fine

12/07/2017 - 12:35pm I'm very ok with everything

I'm very ok with everything going on with recruiting. Take the Ole Miss guys, and build depth.

12/04/2017 - 9:02pm I don't disagree that it

I don't disagree that it wasn't bad. We got unlucky the 2nd half. Missed a ton of open shots. Wagner played his worst game, Robinson is slumping a bit. Yeah, Beilein got a little too cute with his rotation but it's still early season struggles.

12/04/2017 - 8:53pm It's early. Beilein is still

It's early. Beilein is still figuring out the rotation and who will be best where. B1G had to start conference play earlier this year, that's all. At this time last year we were still playing minnows like Houston Baptist so these things were figured out in wins.

Everyone be patient.

11/29/2017 - 8:12am Your title is bad, and you

Your title is bad, and you should feel bad.

From the FAQ:

What should I title my threads?

Please make your thread titles as informative as possible: "Justin Feagin" is bad. "Justin Feagin leaving the team?" is good.

11/28/2017 - 10:11pm I don't think it's

I don't think it's "processing". Seems like a guy just looked at the depth chart and realized he didn't have a good shot at paying. I don't see a problem with that

11/27/2017 - 12:44pm The scout team QB is always

The scout team QB is always the "best" QB until he isn't. It's basically a law at this point

11/27/2017 - 12:08pm McCaffrey is a rail-skinny

McCaffrey is a rail-skinny redshirt freshman. Why do people assume he's going to swoop in and take the starting job next year? Peters was as good as he could possibly have been this year and there's no reason to assume he won't have the first shot in 2018.

McCaffrey will most likely be the backup but as his size he's asking to just get broken like this year's QBs, for different reasons obviously.

11/24/2017 - 11:00am He's not wrong.

He's not wrong.

11/04/2017 - 7:47pm In terms of game prep and

In terms of game prep and attitude/mindset, yes.

10/10/2017 - 2:14am Yes but then you're playing

Yes but then you're playing with no deep safety most likely and trusting everyone in man to man D.

5-wide example:

Long, Hill, Hudson are on WRs, one of Kinnel/Metellus is deep safety, the other is on a RB/TE and Bush out on another RB/TE. You could keep Bush and McCray in the box and line the other safely out on the receiver but that leaves you vulnerable deep.

Based on how they've lined up, they don't want to remove the deep safety AND they don't want to take McCray or Bush off for another DB (we don't have the luxury of another Kinnel waiting in the wings this year). So they play a matchup game and keep McCray in the box where he's more effective than out wide, and Bush is split out onto the receiver.

10/09/2017 - 9:18pm Bush is better than McCray in

Bush is better than McCray in coverage. They seem to trust Bush more than (insert next DB here) against a RB/TE split out.

Assuming they want Bush in over McCray, it looks like they want McCray in the box more than they want another DB on the field.

That Suarez penalty was soft. What a fucking bottle job by PSG though. Holy fuck.

02/25/2017 - 6:52pm OM has a great fanbase and

OM has a great fanbase and are one of the most successful and historic clubs in the country, but, similar to the thoughts of every other Parisian, Marseille is a shithole. Both city and club. That new stadium is beautiful though, I saw the outside of it a couple years ago when I was down there. Looks great on TV too.

PSG is coming off the Barca thrashing and should be running full steam ahead. OM's stars are not 100% but that won't matter. It'll be a crazy one.

I have always liked Nice though, nice to see them doing well and that is a great town.

02/25/2017 - 12:31pm They're awesome to watch.

They're awesome to watch. They are loaded with young guys. Probably the only team (Nice excluded because who knows how long their talent will stay before being poached) that can knock my PSG off the top spot for years to come

02/25/2017 - 11:31am Probably the only Ligue 1

Probably the only Ligue 1 follower here but none of these games are good today. Monaco should run rampant over Guingamp and Lille/Bordeaux would have been good a few years ago before both teams imploded.

Just looking forward to Le Classique tomorrow. PSG-Marseille. That'll be a fantastic one

02/23/2017 - 11:08am Spec tickets

Most likely, the all-session tickets are the only ones being sold at the moment. The single round tickets l

listed on StubHub and such currently are probably broken off all-session packages that brokers have or are spec pricing by those same brokers. I would wait until closer to the tournament to buy single round since there will be firm availability and pricing
