Dude is huge with huge upside! As others said in the earlier thread, good take given OL depth.
Magnus, what say you. I have always respected your opinion, but over the last year, that has gone up exponentially. After our debate before the start of last season about our 3 receivers being left off of the preseason all B1G list and All America list, and you explaining the reasons IYO for their omissions, I won't doubt you again. Is this kid low floor high ceiling or high floor low ceiling?
I’m nowhere near the level of Magnus but from what I can tell this kid has a high ceiling but a low floor. Once he’s on campus they’ll work on his speed, add some weight, and polish his technique. I mean the skies the limit for a kid whose 6’8 and has a wing span that big.
Middle floor, insanely high ceiling. Athletic for his size, strong and nice footwork. He also reclassified from the class of 2020 into the class of 2021 awhile back, so he's old for the class. That's good for an OL in terms of college production, but probably will ding him a bit on the overall ratings. Either way, I think he's a phenomenal addition to the class, and someone with the makeup of a top tier tackle
6-8(!) 285(!!!!)
Glad you verified haha. You really had us goin' on Rocco. He is the prize still.
Incredible a 17-18 year old human being with that size is a relatively middling recruit.
What a time we live in
He is a large man. Not the kind of guy you want to mess with, Chuck.
Wait.......... Forget it. He doesn't stand a chance.
Chuck Norris doesn't do pushups, he pushes the earth down.
Chuck Norris doesn't get wet, the water gets Chucked.
i grew a couple inches my senior year of high school. i hope he doesn't.
The last O-line class and this one (assuming it holds or even improves) are pretty ridiculous.
This Warriner guy seems pretty good
Edit: let's include the last two before this one
i thought he couldn't recruit...so a lot were saying when he was hired.
After 10 years of wandering in the wilderness, it's very nice to a see. A great OL can mask a lot of problems
Those years of wtf are we doing at tackle seem over. The depth is across the entire line.
We are loaded on the OL for the foreseeable future.
Go Blue!
He is a large person
We've recruited pretty well on the OL so in cases like this, its perfectly fine to roll the dice on a kid like this. The upside is pretty darn big, and if he fills out he's got starting LT written all over him. Couple that with Warriner's coaching and he could be really damn good.
That's a big boy. Be the least bit coordinated and just lean on some guys.
He's Bounds to do great things at Michigan!!
GO BLUE!!
Is he a Frey type?
Not quite, but Frey and Warinner have very similar ideas for how offensive linemen should look coming into college. A true Frey type is 6'7, 225.
Looks like a very high upside player and with the depth chart, a perfect fit. I will also rejoice in Michigan grabbing any OL prospect that has a committable offer from ND, Wisconsin, or Iowa.
As an aside, I wonder if Michigan has previously received a commitment from an attendee of an Eight Schools Association school.
Hopefully the next Robert Gallery!
Bounds seems like a guy destined to get a boost in his rating. He's got a pretty solid offer list whether committable or not.
Back-to-Back solid OL recruiting years from Warinner. Harbaugh needs to make sure this guy doesn't go anywhere for a very long time. For the knock Warinner got at OSU for not being a good recruiting, I think he's exceeding expectations while at Michigan.
Great pickup! Go Blue!
Did I make it in before Maizen shits on the 3* ?
Choate is one the most prestigious high schools in the country academically speaking. It is where JFK went to school. Most of their kids end up in the ivy league
This guy is a real dude! Welcome to Michigan!
He will exceed this ranking by leaps and Bounds.
Love it! Bounds has the potential to be an all-time great. Welcome to the family and Go Blue!
