Per Adam schefter.

God damn!

[edit: mgowill] Title somewhat misleading.

Browns get Beckham.

Giants get Cleveland’s 1st round pick (No. 17 overall), the second 3rd round pick this year and Jabrill Peppers.

The trade cannot be made final until Wed. at 4 p.m. ET.

OBJ gives them a huge weapon downfield for Mayfield, and they'll be dangerous in a division that definitely looks winnable with Cincy, Pittsburgh, and Baltimore all trending down or, at best, steady.  I do wonder if their success can carry over next year; they were in a ton of close games last season and sometimes you trend up the following year or you simply settle into playing a lot of close games and winning about half of them.

Their offense should be really good next year with Mayfield, Chubb, and the receivers; their defense played better as the year progressed but they also have some holes in their secondary (I think Ward is the only cornerback they know is back for next year) and then removed a pretty good player in Peppers.

It'll be interesting.  I will say that OBJ is a great talent but he underwhelmed versus expectations the last two years.  Some of that is due to injury and a decent amount is due to having the desicated corpse of Eli Manning wobbling balls to him, but it's not a given he's going to walk right in and be a top-3 receiver.

OBJ is beloved in that locker room. Manning’s passer rating is like 20 points higher with him on the field than without.

The Giants also still paid out $20 million to OBJ because of the signing bonus.

They got robbed and have no light at the end of the tunnel in sight. Gettleman is the worst GM in the NFL.

Cancer.  Period.  Here is a small tidbit of what you get...without a young and immature QB throwing to him now.  You, buddy, will be looking stupid.  Go back to Madden, where he is truly special.

Lets stipulate that Eli is trash and the Browns have a ton of young talent that the Giants don't have, it is still very possible that the Giant make it to a Super Bowl before the Browns.  Giants will get a new qb and given their track record, not at all impossible that the Browns don't leverage that young talent into a Super Bowl appearance.

Us dummies? I've been screaming for years from the rooftops that they need to draft a QB and actually develop him! Ownership has absolutely zero vision, no plan at all, it's ridiculous. The Giants went from one of the best run teams to easily one of the worst in the league and outside of the Mets and Knicks, worst in this City.

Not sure if I feel bad for Jabrill, or not.  On one hand, he's out of Ohio.  On the other, he has to go to the NY Giants.

I just threw up a little in my mouth...

Still entirely possible the Browns find a way to screw this all up.

Make no mistake. There is an absolute assload of talent on that team right now. More than enough to win the division. Cincinnati is a trainwreck, Pittsburgh is a shell of its former self, and Baltimore appears somewhat ordinary. This division is Cleveland’s for the taking.

But the Browns are the exact kind of organization that would find a way to screw this all up and implode on itself. Not saying they will, but between them and the Lions, they are the most capable of taking this kind of situation and just absolutely blowing it.

Get your jokes in now? People have been getting their jokes in for 20 years while the front office in Cleveland has been rat fucking their fans wallets. I am a lifelong Bengals fan and I can’t deal with another shitshow in Cleveland, I hope to hell they have some measure of success because their fans are as loyal as they come and deserve better. But you might just want to wait til they do something before you fire up the victory parade. There are very few franchises across the sporting world that are run with less vision and commitment than the Cleveland Browns. Cautious optimism is the route to take.

How was I supposed to know at the time I posted that Perriman would ask out of the deal he agreed to?

Landry averages 96 catches per season over his career..  Now he and Baker will have another off season together to get on the same page, with the same offense.  On top of that, he will revert to a role he is more comfortable with which is the # 2 receiver who's doing damage within the first 15 yards.

Only Browns fans who watched every game witnessed the maturation, and the progress Higgins/Callaway made throughout the year.  Before he got hurt, Higgins was somewhat of a security blanket for Baker, and Callaway will now be facing single coverage in the slot with much less pressure on him.

This Browns organization is making moves. I may have to jump on the bandwagon. Being a Lions fan you always have to have a second team to root for.

You could argue that the Browns have the most balanced roster in the league talent wise. Their offense could be scary next year. Kareem hunt, obj, Landry, njoku... wow
