Great, so now the coaches can drop Duke all the way down to #3 and keep us at #4 next week. Seriously, fuck Duke, that weasel Coach K, and the coaches’ poll.

I was about to point out SOS until I saw they play a top 10 VaTech team tomorrow night. That being said, I still think if we beat Wisconsin on Saturday we’re the new #1. Especially if we can beat them by double digits. Wisconsin would be a mutual opponent between us and UVa, and UVa beat them only by 7 in Charlottesville.

If we lose and UVa wins, I think the top 4 next Monday will be 1) UVa, 2) Tennessee, 3) Duke, 4) Michigan. If we win on Saturday, I think we’re #1 regardless, unless UVa beats VaTech by 30+. And UVa is not even remotely an offensive juggernaut.

Duke was down two starters so that played a part for sure, but they were still at home, against a meh Syracuse team. Not a great look, Bob.

As for Michigan, take care of business in Madison on Saturday and there’s gonna be a new numero uno come next Monday morning. Far from a given, though. Kohl Center has been a house of horrors for Michigan, and you know that no matter how they’ve looked in recent games, Wisconsin is coming ready to play. They get the #2 team in their house for a chance to get a huge resume booster.

Not a good night in college bball to be a ranked team and playing a game.  Both FSU and IU lost as well with Kansas in a dog fight.

Virginia gets Duke on Saturday if they beat Duke they will most likely be the new number 1 even if we beat Wisconsin. I don't necessarily agree but the ACC still seems to get the advantage in the rankings.

So I'll get the logical thing out of the way first; rankings mean nothing. In college basketball, you can start the tournament unranked and be national champion at the end of it. With that said, I'd still like to be ranked #1 for at least a little while. We had about a day to enjoy it in 2013. But we'll be facing a Wisconsin team who will be desperate and traditionally has pulled miracles out of their asses against us.
