Way too early 2019 Football Depth Chart attempt
Can use some help on the backup OL spots, D-Line and linebacker spots as well
Didn’t designate the walk-ons since some get 1-year scholarships sometimes

Peters is gone, no likely about it. In my opinion of course ;)
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:08 PM ^
Great, the fake insider is back.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:08 PM ^
Hey it’s Franklin
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:04 PM ^
We got a lot of talent coming back. Never in question. I just question whether our coaching staff can maximize their talent and put our players in position to succeed.
January 4th, 2019 at 1:51 AM ^
PLEASE use Evans and Giles Jackson correctly and please make use of our potential 3 all big ten or even all American wide receivers!
January 4th, 2019 at 9:38 AM ^
Lot of weak spots too. Runyan, Stueber, McKeon Gil, Mettellus, Dwumfour, Kemp, Jeter.
And it's no coincidence they all have similar recruiting profiles. But, uh, trust the coaches.
January 4th, 2019 at 9:54 AM ^
Must have been an off year for LT's in the B1G cause Runyan was 1st team. Still a weak spot? I know he's not in the mold of past dominant LT's like Jake Long but he did improve alot.
January 4th, 2019 at 9:58 AM ^
Runyan was first team All-Big Ten and won the team's internal award for best lineman...
January 4th, 2019 at 10:23 AM ^
That's great for him. He also got abused in the Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Florida games. But hey, he sure looked good against Maryland.
January 4th, 2019 at 10:53 AM ^
He was still terrible at pass pro.
I'd like to see a UFR on he and Steuber for both OSU and UF. Really the whole line. We played 4 very good to great teams in 2018, and two of them aren't UFR'd. Those are valuable data points for 2019.
Call out to Seth for help.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:05 PM ^
This team looks solid. If the coaches can fix the offense, we could be dangerous.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:10 PM ^
After 4 years, what do you think they really want to change? Even if the world sees as outdated.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:50 PM ^
Lbs look completely unproven. Ross only guy whos looked good so far, not including vipers
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:03 PM ^
I'd say Ross and Gil have looked good. McGrone is a big recruit, so hopefully he pans out.
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:24 PM ^
Gil? I don’t know. He seems a step slow.
January 3rd, 2019 at 11:04 PM ^
Devin Gil looked good?
Are you and I watching the same games? To my eyes, he looked slow and tentative.
Give me examples of plays where he impressed you and why...
January 4th, 2019 at 8:10 AM ^
Gil is in the same boat as Watson. If you're playing most teams, he's going to be fine because that team won't have enough athletes to make you pay for playing him.
When you get to the OSUs of the world, they are going to attack him mercilessly.
January 4th, 2019 at 10:03 AM ^
Given the hype Anthony and McGrone came with, and the underwhelming overall performance by Gil, I will be really disappointed if one of them does not step up and take the second LB spot.
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:04 PM ^
We really only have two on the field against most teams on a given play. We’ve recruited the position well IMO so I’m not too worried about it. More worried about generating a pass rush against good teams.
January 3rd, 2019 at 10:34 PM ^
I shouldn't comment before checking stats but Uche was an awesome surprise.
He protected his lane. He didn't rush upfield so fast that QB had an escape lane.
Give Kemp and Dwumfour another year in the weight room.
I'm ok with it.
January 4th, 2019 at 9:58 AM ^
We always look “solid”. “Solid” gets you to 9-3/10-2. Been there, done that. It’s Harbaugh’s 5th year...a step up from “solid” is not too much to expect at this point.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:05 PM ^
I'm really hoping Runyan shifts to RT and Mayfield earns the LT spot.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:20 PM ^
I do think Runyon flops to the right side and Mayfield takes over as our next great LT
January 3rd, 2019 at 10:00 PM ^
Mayfield was a better DE in high school than LT. It will take time before Mayfield is the next great one. In fact, Mayfield wasn’t even all conference on offense in high school. His accolades were on the defensive side of the ball. Give him time.
January 4th, 2019 at 10:28 AM ^
Mayfield was a top 100 recruit on the OL and an Army All American in high school.
January 3rd, 2019 at 10:12 PM ^
Runyan was just named 1st team All BigTen. Don't try to runyan him off the spot he just earned with solid play.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:07 PM ^
There is a "Depth Chart By Class" feature on the board which I believe is regularly updated, but of course it hardly ever gets mentioned here - and it is interesting to see diverse opinions on this subject. This is a pretty good one, and thanks for putting it together.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:09 PM ^
https://mgoblog.com/content/michigan-depth-chart-class-0
this is pretty out of date and I don't know how to edit it any more
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:11 PM ^
This field has been disabled because you do not have sufficient permissions to edit it.
That is what I get when I try to edit - I could edit on the old board
January 3rd, 2019 at 10:14 PM ^
I remember when you did it. I liked it. Think it all got erased though. Whatevs.
I always like the effort to do these things, cuz typically you just get hammered when they're meant for discussion.
Mr Yost always did them. Liked his effort, but he didn't elevate freshman enough, imo. That's why I like yours a little better.
Then again, Coach Harbaugh doesn't seem to like playing youngsters all that much either.
Really like all the discussion these depth charts bring.
Keep it up(you too Mr Yost) and Go Blue!
January 3rd, 2019 at 11:11 PM ^
It is way out of date, as usual.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:12 PM ^
I bet that Sainristil will play slot wr or somewhere on offense.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:31 PM ^
When the official Michigan Football Twitter account tweeted out signings, Sainristil was listed as a WR.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:40 PM ^
Don't you think this is the best spot for him?
January 4th, 2019 at 8:51 AM ^
Yeah, I like the way he plays with the ball in his hands. He's an exciting player.
January 4th, 2019 at 9:59 AM ^
Sainristil's Hello post has a calculated 40 time based on his freshman track times of 4.55 (5 fakes out of 5). Anyone have any idea how fast he really is?
January 4th, 2019 at 1:34 AM ^
God I hope so. It would be a lot of fun to finally have that kind of speedy player with the opportunity to get the ball in space. They've been so hesitant to use their existing talent that way, though, that I'm kind of resigned to the possibility that they do actually put him on D. I'm sure he'd be good there too, but I would like to see fun things on offense.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:18 PM ^
I consider Paye a stongside end. He and Uche will be the starters imo. Aiden will be the first to rotate in. Vilain (if healthy) would also be in the mix.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:25 PM ^
Also I Michael Barrett is currently with the LBs. Al Washington tweeted a picture last week of his group Vipers/Sams and Barret was in there
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:29 PM ^
BVS is also a LB not a fullback anymore!
January 3rd, 2019 at 11:39 PM ^
Source?
January 3rd, 2019 at 11:59 PM ^
He’s been a LB since the second week of the season. I wonder sometimes if people pay attention to warm ups before games. You get a good idea of what position groups players are in.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:28 PM ^
Is it possible that Kwity could move to SDE? Depth looks a little concerning there. That would give Vilain (fingers crossed he's healthy) a chance to start at WDE.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
Yes, it's possible, but with zero playing time in two years, it would be surprising to me if Vilain becomes a starter. I think we're probably looking at a defensive end duo consisting of 2 out of 3 of these players: Paye, Uche, Hutchinson.
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:18 PM ^
Agree with Magnus - Paye, Uche and Hutchinson are the DE's for 2019 rotation. Others like Vilian are bonus material.
January 3rd, 2019 at 8:33 PM ^
Look how underbalanced we are... at DT is almost empty and overly stacked at DE. makes no sense at all. And to compensate for it they'll take an undersized DE like Marshall and move him inside. How is it people here can see it and yet in the "submarine" they're blind to it .
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:08 PM ^
I think someone from offense will play DT and everyone will be surprised. It’s interesting for sure.
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:18 PM ^
Paea may head back to defense - started as a NT
January 3rd, 2019 at 9:19 PM ^
Onwenu maybe?
