Ohio State Commit, Jordan Battle, Flips to Alabama
December 19th, 2018 at 7:59 AM ^
Yeah, and Sam has been hinting all morning about something big happening for the Maize and Blue.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:01 AM ^
I've been listening since 6:15 this morning and haven't heard him make any hints at all. He's been talking exclusively about actual commits.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:05 AM ^
You haven't been listening then. He had Wilfong on and they both said that Michigan will leave the star gazers happy by the end of the day. Maybe it's just me being overly optimistic. I'm not saying Dax Hill is coming, but they are intimating something we haven't planned on happening.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:23 AM ^
I owe you an apology-Dax Hill is back in the fold. Is signed.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:37 AM ^
You don't owe me anything Don, it's all good, we are Michigan brothers, I'm just glad it worked out. Sam was acting like the cat that swallowed the canary all morning. Ah........ Go Blue!
December 19th, 2018 at 8:44 AM ^
There is now a Sam Webb apology thread. We can all go over there an apologize!
December 19th, 2018 at 4:49 PM ^
There should be an apology thread for Daxton Hill for all the people who went on and on about "bagman", like he was bought out by a man with a bag full of money.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:06 AM ^
He was blinking a hidden message.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:19 AM ^
I knew I should have learned Morse code.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:02 AM ^
Wonder if Darius Robinson is now a possibility with Harrison off the table. Looks like a solid player with good size and listed to play the same postition as Harrison: strongside defensive end.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:04 AM ^
I believe Michigan is recruiting him as a TE
December 19th, 2018 at 8:06 AM ^
Nick Saban’s tear through opposing Power Five commitment lists continues.
Let's put a stop to that, shall we?
December 19th, 2018 at 8:36 AM ^
DONE.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:16 AM ^
Michigan coaches think Dax is back in the saddle.
ZH to osu, but as of last night GM would not say it's over...
CJ to the good guys, working on 2 flips, but more than anything keeping our connections strong with two of the kids who are Feb commits.
In regards to the transfer ishh.
This really started last winter. When DrakeH, MoeW, AlexM, IanB, and WilS all got in their feelings about most likely not coming back. They took the higher road but still showed their disappointment to some of the younger players. So, of course, when some of the said young players got the handshake, or were told they had to earn their scholly in Spring ball, they got upset. A bunch of these kids were close, and parts of JH first recruiting cycle. Once the list began to grow some disdain for certain coaches started to spread. KeokaC, EdM, TyW, KareemW, DrewS, JamesH, and other (for whatever it's worth KurtT was never part of this group, always showed up with a great attitude and always doing what was asked of him). This same group of guys was upset when the staff let AhmirM go, after he broke countless rules.
Nothing about this is rare in big time college ball. JeddF spoke about this at length at a coaching clinic this summer, and with the rules changing on transfers, is really just the norm anymore in college football. Let me be clear: KeokaC, EdM, TyW, KareemW, DrewS, & JamesH ALL LEFT MICHIGAN BECAUSE THEY GOT OUT WORKED IN CLASSROOM AND FOOTBALL FIELD. That is what we should all want out of our coaches, no favorites, the best and hardest working players should play.
PS: Not sure the AubreyS stuff is over, but does not sound like coaches are begging for him to come back either.. 3 more transfers at a min, team will add Grad Transfers this summer. Bowl prep has been awesome, going to see some young guys get some burn, the future looks great. The O-Line and back end both been doing great in prep.
cheers

No idea if you know what your talking about, but if so thanks for the information. What young guys who didn’t play at all or very little could we see next Saturday? Sims maybe? Also, any clue on if Patterson is going pro?
December 19th, 2018 at 8:24 AM ^
Thanks for the info, its always appreciated!
When you mentioned the 2 flips, would those be the February signers or the early enrollees?
I am glad that if anything the reason those players transferred was because they were flat out beaten by other players who wanted it more. You could see players, especially at the WR position, working their tail off. Examples are of Ronnie Bell and Oliver Martin, both had guys in front of them but still fought for their time on the field.
Soloman stuff seems weird. Kid just needs to put his nose in the dirt and play tough. He has so much potential.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:26 AM ^
Who are you?
December 19th, 2018 at 8:48 AM ^
I must know!
December 19th, 2018 at 8:28 AM ^
Love reading your insights, but its like a puzzle trying to figure out some of the abbreviated names. Who is EdM? Last names only in the future? Regardless, thanks for taking the time to post.

McDoom I believe.
December 19th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
Kinda sad about Kurt Taylor. I liked him a lot. I thought he could turn out to be good. I was wrong. I don't know what happened along the way. Does anyone know where he was in the depth chart, what it was looking like for him before he left?

Ghost of Jermain

The enemy of my enemy is a really bad enemy. Nevertheless, I fully endorse this development.

Dax Hill, C'MON DOWN!!

Wiltfong on WTKA: Michigan and Georgia could be the big winners of the day.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:15 AM ^
But he didn't. He was asked to break down national stories after talking about Michigan and quickly mentioned Georgia because he was clearly busy and trying to end the segment.
Both should have fine days but this is a bit of a misrepresentation of what was said.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:21 AM ^
Wiltfong posted this in his latest update:
Wouldn't be surprised to see the nation's No. 1 safety Daxton Hill land back with the Wolverines. The Tulsa (Okla.) Washington stand out committed to the Wolverines in September, made a shocking flip to Alabama earlier this month, but the Wolverines staff has hung in there and could win out.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:32 AM ^
I thought Dax was not announcing anything during the early signing period?
December 19th, 2018 at 8:37 AM ^
Um, nevermind.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:08 AM ^
On another note, Sam gave a gut feeling on Harrison picking the University of Ohio State.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:09 AM ^
I’m so overwhelmingly confused.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:09 AM ^
Why do bad things happen to good, clean programs?
December 19th, 2018 at 8:20 AM ^
Cheaters never prosper. Wait... never mind.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:12 AM ^
So now Bama has a safety.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:19 AM ^
And so does Michigan!
December 19th, 2018 at 8:13 AM ^
ultimately it was Urban Meyer’s decision to step down after the season that was the final dagger into OSU’s chances to hang on to the South Florida Standout.
Anybody who thinks that an obscure former assistant coach in Ryan Day is going to be able to just keep pulling 5 stars out of FL, TX, CA, the DMV to go play in cold weather rust belt Ohio State is nuts.
Those elite recruits were going north to play for Urban Meyer, not Ohio State.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:31 AM ^
Whatever helps you sleep at night
Harry Miller (Georgia) and Garrett Wilson (Texas) are two 5* players signing with Ohio state that are fully committed to coming north and playing for coach Day.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:39 AM ^
Because they were recruited by and committed to Urban Meyer over the course of a long recruitment cycle.
Let's count up Ryan Day's Georgia and Texas 5 stars when it's exclusively his own show.
I'm thinking not quite so many.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:43 AM ^
Wasn't that the exact same thing with Jordan Battle? Miller and Wilson had every reason to decommit and look elsewhere, they didn't. They've already said they're committed to cosch Day.
If you're praying Ohio states out of state recruiting is somehow going to take a hit without Urban Meyer, you might not want to pay attention to the 2020 class, just saying.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:19 AM ^
Alabama has 24 commits and 1 (3 star) recruit, and he is a kicker. Yikes!
December 19th, 2018 at 8:23 AM ^
But stars don't matter.
Alabama has made all those CFPs and won all those championships because they are really good at developing their 3 star kickers.
December 19th, 2018 at 8:41 AM ^
Bonus! Hill comes to us, and Battle does not go to OSU. It's a good morning already!
