Cryptic tweets by those who have recently left the program

At the end lets take the road less traveled: the high road. Unless you want to get a panel of all the transfers together & identify the central theme of all the departures & since that will not happen let them speculate. Be blessed

Negativity? You know he didn"t write those tweets right? They came from EX Michigan football players who were on the team for part of our most recent season. These tweets could or could not explain what is going on with some of these transfers but fact of the matter is this is a Michigan blog and the info presented relates to Michigan so stop bitching.

Actually, the whole concept behind the "cryptic" nature of these tweets is that they could or could not have any relation at all to Michigan football. That's why this whole thread is speculative.

The only thing that can be gathered concretely from this thread is that it fits perfectly with the wholeheartedly negative outlook of the OP.

Hello The Chancre,

You keep insisting on pushing political buttons on topics that aren’t political. A cursory review of your posting history reveals that you can’t help yourself. I’ve blocked your account and if you decide to return, please keep from dragging politics into discussions that have nothing to do with politics. Bye.

I played a collegiate team sport for 4 years.  We had guys on our team that hated our coach (including me at times) and others that loved him.  We had guys leave because of their hate for our coach and also some guys stick it out even though they did not agree with him.  Were there incidents of issues in the locker room at times, absolutely.  But I can honestly say that there needs to be a lot more evidence than what has happened the past month for me to come even close to a conclusion that there are major issues in Schembechler Hall.  A bad coach can ruin a lot with a team (See Hoke and Rodriguez), but bad leaders on the team can do far worse IMO.  I am not saying that is the case here, but until a Winovich or Kinnel (guys who seem to have earned the respect from their teammates) come out and bash our program, I will choose to hold my judgement.  I am a Harbaugh supporter but whether he goes or stays, he didn't just start coaching this year nor did 90% of his coaching staff.  There are always unfortunate events that happen to every collegiate team.  The challenge is what TEAM can use them to get better and be more successful because of them.

The ones he said "“My earlier tweet had nothing to do with @CoachJim4UM”?

Those tweets?

If anything, they had to do with the UM fanbase. (i.e., "After receiving more comments from Michigan fans O’Korn concluded the series of tweets with one more reading, “And by the looks of my mentions, I think I proved my point.”)

And, FWIW, O'Korn no longer even has a Twitter account.

I have no idea what's going on, except a few players who had trouble seeing the field at UM, have transferred. Until told differently (and this people are free to speak -- nothing's stopping them) I'll go with that logical explanation.

Uh, no.

We ALL thought; "WOWZERS we hazz Harbaugh now! Everyone, tight ends, quarterbacks, people who are left handed, they'll ALLLLLL want to come here! Harbaugh is the guy who is the best at everything!!"

No, NO ONE thought this kind of stuff might be happening.

But it is, and it cannot just be dismissed as, "Well, those who stya, every program has it"

I mean, we threads every time and Ohio State kid transfers or declares for the NFL or decommits.

If this happens at another school, this board goes CRAZY speculating about the impending doom of that school.

But here at Dear Old Michigan--Routine. Nothing to see here. Move along now (Insert picture of exploding fireworks factory).

That's what i was wondering. The rash of transfers by high profile recruits with clear paths to playing time is alarming to me. Anyone have a count on how many guys have either transferred or been kicked off the team between the 16 and 17 classes?

Heck, he was behind Stueber when the rubber hit the road in EL. Supposedly because he missed practice with injuries - which I actually suspect is the core issue. All of these guys had injuries.

Harbaugh has said there are good players, bad players and injured players - the issue is that the latter two are hard to differentiate. Injury will move a guy to the back of the queue and force him to re-earn all playing time.

Perhaps JH is working them too hard and it also caused burnout by Cbus. Who knows? There are enough smart, capable and responsible folks in the program to counsel JH one way or another.

Well those two definitely transferred because they weren’t good enough to get pass those in front of them. Not sure about Solomon though.

Hudson was likely going to start at RT next year. Some people will say Stueber passed him but that's not true if you read and listen to guys like Sam Webb. Hudson went in ahead of Stueber every game this year until MSU and that was because he had a hand injury per Harbaugh after the game. He transferred the next week. I think Walker's issues had more to do with off field stuff than on.

LOL. Now you edit your comment to make every response look bad. What a miserable human being you are.

Even saying "likely going to start" is complete speculation and guessing. Hudson had just a good of shot to start as Stueber or Mayfield, but you're not a coach or an insider.

Stop making stuff up to try and prove your point.

We aren't experiencing any more or less transfers than we normally do or any good team does. Now, Solomon transferring is odd considering the depth chart at DT, but his recruitment was always odd. As Magnus stated, this transfer isn't surprising. It hurts and it sucks, but it's not surprising.

Right but with rumors of 6-7 guys sitting out the bowl game; some of them mid-round picks, just doesn’t add up.

Also, speculation that Higdon’s dad is upset with the coaches about the usage of Karan against OSU and also rumors of Black possibly transferring certainly is raising eyebrows.

It does add up. Dudes wouldn't be transferring or sitting out unless there was something there. No legit inside info as to what it is yet.

My complete speculation is Harbaugh is wearing thin on some of the guys. It's well known not everyone can take him for any extended period of time. Combine that with the fiasco that was OSU and the egos of guys at this level, and it's not hard to get a picture of what might be happening.

robpollard

If 6-7 guys sit out the bowl game, that would be a problem.

But these wash outs? People are too focused on their starz and not how they actually did / are doing at the college level.
- Kareem Walker played juco last year and had 64 carries for 207 yards with 1 TD.
- James Hudson got beat out and now plays for a team outside the Power 5
- Tyrone Wheatley Jr went to an FCS school ; he had 1 catch this year

...and so on.

I'm less than thrilled, from a depth & potential about Solomon leaving, but he had as little impact his first 2 years at Michigan as you possibly can imagine for a 5-star player; pair that with his extremely odd recruiting history, and it's no surprise he's gone.

If these folks have something to say, say it. Otherwise, they're just being internet trolls.

I have to preface this by admitting I'm that guy who never wanted Solomon back after the name misspelling flap & "F Michigan" video posted. I was not popular for that view. Oh well...

But if someone on here is insinuating Tarik Black "may" transfer (first I'VE heard of it) then I think there'd now be enough evidence to start drawing a conclusion that JH may not make injured players feel fully welcome.

Every person whose tweets were quoted (along with Tarik) have spent substantial periods unable to participate. There may be an undercurrent that baby-sitting frequently injured players is not worth the scholarship. That would be VERY hard to believe with players as potentially productive as Aubrey & Tarik, but the appearance of a pattern, at the least, would be undeniable.
