Brandon Justice just posted this on Twitter “I’m told #Michigan has gained serious momentum in its pursuit (x2) of 5star Alabama commit Dax Hill. I don’t have a crystal ball, but if I did it’s on U-M.”

Only thing I can really guess, is that someone really sold him on the fact that Harbaugh was leaving. I thought it was interesting that Harbaugh seemed a little pissed when he made the comment about the same narrative being fabricated every year at this time. Maybe someone convinced Dax, Harbaugh put that to bed, and here we are. 100% guess though.

If true, wouldn't one think that before changing said commitment it might be something the family might have a chat with the coaches about to clarify?  Seems like there is more to the story than that.  But, whatever.  I would love to see him still be part of the class.  He seems like a special talent.

Maybe they misspelled his name, and then he realized that they spelled it W-O-O-D-S-O-N and felt better about it.

Not if there's a family member or someone with similar influence telling the recruit that a coach is leaving or that he should flip for whatever reason. These are teenagers after all, and many of them have a long list of mentors/coaches/friends/family that they talk to, some of whom are not going to always have the best informed advice.

To be fair to these kids, I'm sure it gets confusing as hell.   A lot of these coaches could put high pressure salesman to shame and as you said the kids are surrounded by people with their own motivations telling them all kinds of things. After a while, I'm sure the noise is overwhelming.

Hopefully Dax sees through it all and makes the best choice for himself.  Would love to see him in Maize and Blue, though.

This would seem to be it. Bama must have used some kind of “evidence” to make it seem like Harbaugh’s future at Michigan was up in the air. Michigan has just visited him and told him it’s fine so Dax feels misled by Michigan.

Then Harbaugh indicates he is clearly staying and now Dax feels misled by Alabama.

That said there are two weird things.

1. It’s one thing to decommit, it’s another to flip. He clearly has interest in Bama

2. The fact he wasn’t going to sign during the early period indicates he wasn’t 100% ready to pull the trigger on Michigan.
