For a kid who should be in high school. Holy shit
March 15th, 2013 at 10:20 PM ^
Taco's been floating around the 250-260 pound range for about a year now. That doesn't ensure that it's good weight, but I don't think this is a sudden binge. I believe he played his senior year somewhere close to 260
Its strange not seeing #16 on the roster. I miss him already!!
A.J Williams lost 25 pounds! Bolden and Funchess didn't gain much, which kinda disappoints me.
March 15th, 2013 at 10:00 PM ^
Really thought Bars and Magnuson would have put on more weight by now.
Tuley-Tillman has cut down, which is good. A lot of his weight was bad weight. Rivals lists him at 307.

They're still in their freshman year of college, so being in the mid-280's isn't concerning at all. By the beginning of fall, they're both within range of 290 lbs. as redshirt freshmen. Our senior starting tackles are 308 and 303, and our likely starting guard (Kalis) is 297 right now. So they're not far off.

Do you know if Braden was just further along physically from the start?
March 15th, 2013 at 10:16 PM ^
Yes. Braden is part oak.

Don't think we really need to be worried about Miller..290 is not that bad of a weight for a 6'3ish center.
March 15th, 2013 at 10:09 PM ^
Yeah...people are way too concerned about Miller's weight. He was 288 last season. He's 291 now. Dominic Raiola has been in the NFL for years and he's 6'1", 295 lbs., and centers are almost always the smallest guys on the line.

I don't think you can really blame Bryant. He was huge from the start and his leg has been broken.
March 16th, 2013 at 12:55 AM ^
Is pretty svelte at this point. Pretty sure he said he was up to 360 at one point around the all star games. Losing 50lbs and undoubtedly getting much stronger in a college S&C program.
March 16th, 2013 at 10:21 AM ^
Gibbons at 240? I know he is a kicker but jeez, stay in shape a little bit.
March 15th, 2013 at 10:03 PM ^
Looks like LTT has dropped some weight as 6'7" 285lb seems fairly lean
March 15th, 2013 at 10:05 PM ^
Great to see Pip down to 308.
March 15th, 2013 at 10:07 PM ^
Some selected averaged by position / position group from the entire roster rather than any projected two-deep:
Offensive line - 6 ft., 6 inches and 300 lbs
Defensive line - 6 ft., 3 inches and 299 lbs
Defensive end - 6 ft, 4 inches and 265 lbs
Linebacker - 6 ft., 2 inches and 227 lbs
Running back - 5 ft, 10 inches and 202 lbs
Tight end - 6 ft, 4 inches and 239 lbs
Wide receiver - 6 ft, 2 inches and 196 lbs
I will say that I am really liking that average size on the offensive line.
March 15th, 2013 at 11:39 PM ^
It might take a little longer to see, but DB averages should probably look like 5'11"-6'0" and 180-190lbs in a few years.
and happy with the wide receivers too! last few years the averages were probably close to 5'10"-5'11" and 180-190lbs (which is what the DBs hopefully will look like)
given enough solid recruiting classes, hoke and company will transform this roster into beasts. i have no doubt michigan will have a strong, physical, perennial top-10 defense for years to come!

What number will Shane wear?
Every QB number is taken except #16...
Hmm....
On second thought, I rather him not. Because every QB to wear #16 here had mountains of critics. Steve Smith, John Navarre, Denard.
March 15th, 2013 at 10:16 PM ^
Not sure if serious. There are plenty of QB numbers besides 16 that he could wear, including the most famous one (7: Leach, Henson, Henne). He could also wear Harbaugh's 4, 11, 18, Griese's 14, or ask a walkon QB to give him 6, 13 or 15. He could also wear 2 and start calling himself Shanney Football.
March 16th, 2013 at 10:05 AM ^
Didn't Hoke say he wants as many numbers assigned to one guy as he can?
And re: 2 & 11, #2 isn't going to be worn by anyone except "elite DBs", and I don't expect a freshman to get a legends number if Funchess didn't get 87 last year.

His weight fluctuated a lot. At one point he was reportedly up to 330.
But let's remember that the coaches fudge these weights sometimes. Will Campbell was like 360 at one point, but the highest he was ever listed was 338 or something like that.
