It's honestly a solution a kindergartner could come up with.

Referees are absolutely handing this game to Notre Dame. Typical nepotistic garbage. I am about to hit my television to silence these annoying announcers. I am sure they will find this not to be a touchdown. What a load of garbage.

Man that's BS call. I really hope USC kicks ND in the throat.

October 13th, 2012 at 7:09 PM ^
Refs wussed out because they feared the old men in the stands.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:09 PM ^
Another gift for a fraud Notre Dame team
Oh well, makes us look better I guess.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:10 PM ^
Son of a bitch!!!!! This is what Notre Dame was like under Holtz. Close games always going their way and helped by a questionable call.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:10 PM ^
Wooooooooooooooow. How they didn't call that a TD after review is beyond me.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:10 PM ^
THIS IS HORSESHIT! I HATE NOTRE DAME. NO OTHER TEAM IN THE COUNTRY WOULD GET SUCH A CRAP CALL. WHEN ARE THE OFFICIALS GETTING THEIR CHECKS FROM THE NOTRE DAME BOOSTERS!?

Like the Bush Push, right?
October 13th, 2012 at 7:18 PM ^
I like how you remembered to put your name in lowercase, with a tilde.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:10 PM ^
Man, I forgot how much I love a good defense. Now if we can just shut down Bell.

October 13th, 2012 at 7:11 PM ^
Even if he fumbled, the Stanford guy clearly secured the ball in the end zone!
October 13th, 2012 at 7:15 PM ^
That rule doesn't apply in South Bend unless it helps out Notre Dame.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:11 PM ^
I am so mad I'm shaking about the ND game. They were GIVEN that game.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:14 PM ^
October 13th, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
Big Game Bob is going to take Notre Dame to the woodshed in Norman.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:34 PM ^
October 13th, 2012 at 7:13 PM ^
Stanford got a shafting from the refs on that last play. Complete bullshit!
October 13th, 2012 at 7:14 PM ^
Not sure why I flipped to ESPN, but I'm regretting it.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:49 PM ^
last week they put one of those smart mics on Holtz and it turned itself off. So ESPN isn't always all bad.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:15 PM ^
Oklahoma is going to kick the shit out the Irish.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:15 PM ^
October 13th, 2012 at 7:15 PM ^
So I switch away from the god-awful Tom Hammonds and the NBC homers to ESPN...and there's Lou Holtz.
You can't win. You can't even break even.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:33 PM ^
Between the ND mafia and the OSU mafia (Herbie, Spielman, R. Smith, Galloway on the WWL and E. George on Fox...seriously, how the h*ll does OSU get so many people on TV?), it's almost impossible to watch college football analysis without feeling like throwing up.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:46 PM ^
Herbie is an OSU grad, but he is not anywhere near a homer and I will defend that tooth and nail. The dude moved out of Ohio because of the shit fans complaining about his anti-OSU picks, fergodsake!
The others, eh, they may or may not have received a degree from OSU. Either way, TV commentary is a better career than pizza delivery. You can't even criticize OSU as a pizza boy!
October 13th, 2012 at 7:49 PM ^
They're all communications majors down there.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:16 PM ^
October 13th, 2012 at 7:22 PM ^
Yeah, because forward progress isn't a thing.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:26 PM ^
there wouldn't have been a review. The whistle would have stopped play.
Note also that the review allowed the call to stand, they did not confirm it. If the call had been forward progress there couldn't have been a situation where the ball was too close to the goal line to make a determination.

^ I don't think he's entirely helpful in determing what actually stops the play here, but he affirms that forward progress wasn't ruled, and then follows that up by saying the whistle blowing has no bearing on the play. If the whistle is blown how is progress not marked? How those are exclusive beats me.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:34 PM ^
Dude, are you closet ND fan or what?
October 13th, 2012 at 7:39 PM ^
Less of an ND "fan" more of a board goer who finds the extreme reactions to rivals' wins to be a bit ridiculous. We get it, you're not supposed to cheer for Michigan State or Notre Dame, but flooding the board with "These guys are frauds!" after games such as the Capital One Bowl earlier this year or Stanford today gets a bit old. It's silly if you can't just enjoy a good football game.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:16 PM ^
ND is 6-0***
***Given one game due to the refs
He rolled in, what the heck.... I never really cared for ND but I hate them now. I hope Oklahoma runs over them...
October 13th, 2012 at 7:16 PM ^
I guess replay official Tommy O'Flannagan didn't see it the way the replay showed.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:18 PM ^
Whatever. Notre Dame can still kiss my ass. Oklahoma and USC will pound them but those games aren't for a while. In the meantime, it will be constant national championship talk by the media for them led by Lou Holtz. Have your mute buttons ready.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:19 PM ^
...the OL did.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
October 13th, 2012 at 7:19 PM ^
Oklahoma already has done good this season by defeating Texas. They can extinguish another wrong this season.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:22 PM ^
October 13th, 2012 at 7:24 PM ^
When in Notre Dame's favor they use it to zoom in but when it is against them you never see it.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:30 PM ^
There are advantages to having your own network--of that there can be no doubt.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:25 PM ^
I don't think there is any chance that Braxton Miller, QB for OSU is going to win the Heisman this year. He's good, especially at running, but even with the loss Geno Smith's numbers will dwarf anything that Miller does.
October 13th, 2012 at 7:37 PM ^
and he hasn't played us yet
October 13th, 2012 at 8:10 PM ^
What I find interesting (frustrating) is that no one mentions that Miller almost lost that game against MSU with 3 TO's. OSU won but Miller did his d@mndest to try to lose that game with all of his miscues.
I guess as long as your team wins, it doesn't matter how many mistakes you make in a game.
