Thank the lord for that double play. I don't care if it's a Monday night, I have my cold Bud Light waiting if this game ends as it should. Don't happen often in the Motor City.

I think Albuquerque just walked the Coors Light vendor in Section 213.

I have never seen a right hander hit a home run to right field by a right hander harder then Cabby hit that missle earlier. MVP IMO.

...Did you never see Manny Ramirez hit? (BTW, it's a testament to Cabrera that I'm busting out the Manny comparison because Manny was the fucking boss)

Best opposite field power hitters of all-time...
When it's all said and done, one can make a good argument for Miguel Cabrera. Some other recent players that come to mind are Manny, A-Rod, and Chipper.

Don't forget about Pujols.

OH HAI GUYZ, I'm Miguel Cabrera and I have sole possession of first place in HRs now.

Doesn't count when you wait until the 8th inning.
CWS throttled Cleveland 11-0. Even Drum Guy went home early.

Yankees had 4 homeruns in one inning.

How does the seeding work? I know the WCs play each other, but then what?

WC winner plays division champ with best record (regardless of division). Other two division winners play.

Would have the west champion if the Yankees sweep Boston (who is basically a single-a team at this point) and Oakalnd take two or three from Texas.

Trout 2-2 so far. Angels may live to fight another day.

Miguel with a 4 hit performance. He might have sealed the batting crown tonight. Currently .006 ahead of Trout and .007 ahead of Mauer.
1 HR ahead of Hamilton, who has most of 1 game in hand.

It's a division title. Never take those for granted. I remember the playoff drought from 1987-2006 all too well.

Congrats, Tigers. It wasn't always easy or pretty, but another AL Central pennant sure feels good.

Go Get em Tigers!
World Series bound and picking up steam....
Go Get em Tigers
That's all I remember but back in 1968 I was 9 years old and that little ditty was played a LOT on WJR.
FWIW my #1 piece of sports memorabilia is a baseball signed by all the players and coaches from the 68 team. My late father was a dentist in Pontiac and one of his patients was Jim Price (back up catcher). He got the ball for my dad and my dad gave it to me.

this year. Not overly confident in their chances, but a top three of Verlander, Scherzer, Fister at least gives you a fighting chance in the playoffs.

Congrats, but as I'm a fan of that other Chicago baseball team, I'm not sure what you mean by pennant or October?
There is baseball beyond the regular season?
I thought there was only 162 exhibition games. It's baseball after all, a gentleman's game, and crowning a champion seems like something the peasants would do.
Tip of the hat regardless. Glad that other team from Chicago experienced no pleasure.

I remember last year around the fall someone posted about how the Michigan-Ohio State game of 1995 changed his outlook as a young man. I know most of the mgobloggers are married men, but it is amazing what this victory can do for your psyche, as a young man, as the rest of the fall plays out. Anyone who says sports are just a game - talk to me after the Ohio State game.
