Bama
NICE pass by DG there at 25 sec. That was a 50 yrd rope!

Thank you.
Haha is that a bubble screen at 1:02?
DEVIN GARDNER AT QB!?!?!
#38 (Rawls I think) has GRIT.
Denard made some tight throws, but I saw a couple of wobbly passes. Devin Gardner has an arm! Surprising he made that throw to Dileo on the run.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:08 PM ^
That totally looked like a bubble screen.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
Word on the street is that Denard drew it up in the huddle and that Devin Gardner immediately switched back to QB from his starting WR spot while Denard got chewed out by Hoke and Borges.

I can't tell if you are being serious or joking.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
Yes.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:23 PM ^
Alright, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:24 PM ^
You're welcome.
(It was a joke.)
Haha I thought the exact same thing and was about to post "Bubble screen at 1:02!!"... lo and behold only 5 posts down, 2 people beat me to it. :D
And Countess played it really well. Love that kid.
Is he even allowed to have grit?
Some. He's a light skinned brotha.
"nice job desmond, nice job desmond" lol
Just a teeny tiny little crack rock for all the addicts in withdrawal...
I was concerned when the first two plays I saw were passes in which the QB didn't have their feet set, but they were set for every throw after that so I felt better.
The other thing I noticed was that I saw Miller playing C - I think for all the clips I saw. With as much as is being made about Barnum at C, Miller was certainly getting some reps at that practice.
On Denard's TD run, Barnum pulls and has a nice block on Morgan (big collision). It looks to me like he made that play from the Center position*. That's some good quickness right there!
*It looked like he was at Center there, so I went back to rewatch the clip and think I've confirmed it. The other linemen are Omameh, Schofield (who appears to be at LT for this play), Mealer, and I would assume an off-screen RT.
Desmond Morgan looks really physical. I hope he takes over for Demens next year. And lol at the guy (at 2:14) who jumps in the air to celebrate with Denard...as he walks away lol.
Saw that guy too, made me laugh.
not too terribly much to go on but it looked like a solid practive after 1 week.
Speaking of Demens, kind of odd there hasn't been much said about him this year. He is a senior and one of if not the best returning starter in the front 7.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:00 PM ^
Things have been said about him if you look in the right places. I don't think he's a superstar linebacker, and I don't think he's one of the biggest leaders on the team. So I think he kind of fades into the background a little bit.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
That is kind of what I have taken away from it as well. It's just that you would think your MLB would be more of a presence on the field. I guess that is why we have Kovacs.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
After watching that video, I bet Jeremy Jackson thinks Kenny Demens is a "presence on the field."
Demens is the MLB and Morgan is playing WLB. I don't see Demens being displaced unless they decide to throw someone else in there on passing downs.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:00 PM ^
He's saying "next year" as in 2013, which is after Demens will have graduated.
March 30th, 2012 at 11:08 AM ^
Besides the hoodie guy, Omameh goes in for a congrats but someone gets there first and he walks away. Been there, done that. Gets some good sideline coaching. ("Seniors have to keep competing!") At 2:31 he goes in again and finishes.
highlights, but the problem is that Fall is so far away! I'm like a crackhead, who just got a taste...I need MOAR football!!! I can't wait!
Yeah, they should keep DG at WR if he is going to keep making 50 yd strikes off his back foot....is it football season yet?
March 29th, 2012 at 10:02 PM ^
QB controversy it is then.

QB controversy it is then.
Bubble Screen!?
Also, can't they get the helmet decals the right color? Last year they were too dark and now they're too neon.
Thanks! I've been hankerin for some practice video. I think the offense is really gonna take off this year. It'll be tough replacing Molk and Hemingway, but I think Denard will be improved, and I expect the running backs to rack up more yards too.
Nice. Stuff I loved:
1. Throw on the run by DG. He has some arm!
2. Option run by Denard. Old magic continues!
3. Snaps not being fumbled (one was a little awry - but okay). C position is fine!
4. Rawls - once he has momentum, he breaks tackles.
Need moar of these... Sept is so far away.
I can tell he's been hitting the weight room. His biceps are much bigger.
GET RID OF GREY FACEMASKS!
Was happy to not see any wild snaps. Hoping that's the norm.
March 30th, 2012 at 10:10 AM ^
Do you really think they'd add muffed/fumbled/bad snaps to a 2 and a half minute highlight video?
I don't think you can look into that short series of plays and draw too many conclusions.
I have been wondering when another video would show up all day. Guess I got my wish.
to the Big Will isolation cam?
The media speculation beast is starving!
Denard is still fast.

It looked like Terrence Talbott was getting some reps in the with 1st team D. Haven't heard a word about him all spring.
March 29th, 2012 at 10:04 PM ^
Yeah, he's been playing with the ones...ahead of J.T. Floyd at times.
March 29th, 2012 at 11:09 PM ^
Wow! That is really surprising. If he's legit, that would add some nice depth at CB. He always looked like he had the speed and quickness to be a good corner, but I only remember him looking lost half the time as a true freshman. Hopefully he's ready for prime time now.
March 30th, 2012 at 10:21 AM ^
Hoke has said many many times that older guys sit more to prevent injury and to let the younger guys get reps. Especially since during the year, you don't get to rep the backups as much and many are running the opposing team's stuff.
We know what Floyd can do. He's a decent B1G CB, no top speed, takes too many chances, inconsistent tackler..."heady," short memory, physical, can make some plays.
Last Spring we couldn't sit as many older guys because they were all learning too (however, RVB, Martin, etc. did sit more at the end of the spring).
Toussaint is sharing a lot of reps, Lewan is sitting to get Schofield and others time at LT, I would expect Omameh to start to sit more for Chris Bryant as well. On defense there are so many new players in new positions, but Demens, Floyd and Kovacs are the 3 I'd expect to sit to allow other guys (Bolden, Hollowell/Talbott, Robinson) to play more.

Glad I got a small fix..Im Jonesing for more though! lol That DG pass was amazing. Denard to slot and DG at qb? I mean come on, mix it up. lol
