the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

In today's day and age, it's not nearly as bad. Noone doubts the Kings-Lakers Game 6 was fixed; early 00s it was bad, and even then you had the Pistons/Spurs (definitely not "company teams") dominating the league. It has clearly gotten better since the early '00s, and hopefully there is some accountability moving forward. But to say issues like this only impact the NBA seems somewhat ignorant; basketball is the sport where officials have the most visible impact, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen elsewhere. Even looking solely at basketball, I'm sure you could find quite a few Big Ten games this season that would have had different results if officiated "correctly" (most obvious to us being the Wisconsin game, where OT was an absolute travesty). |

Please tell me this is a very well-executed April Fools joke across every well-known Michigan football site.. |
| 9 weeks 13 hours ago | Beilein TOs |
Again, wasted a timeout 8 seconds before there would've been an automatic one anyways... Wiscy hits a 3, proving it useless. |
| 9 weeks 16 hours ago | IMO |
I recently made a similar decision for grad school as well. If I were you I would choose Columbia; both are great, top tier business schools, of course, but Columbia is one "tier" above UMich relatively speaking. |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | Ah, I'm an idiot.. |
Thought the tiebreaker in use was overall losses (Michigan-centric view related overall losses to conference losses, didn't take the time to differentiate). |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | Glaring issue |
In order for us to win out, IU will have to end up with 5 losses.. Which I think changes things up in some of your outlined scenarios. |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | Uhhh |
Butler hasn't played Duke this season, let alone beat them. |
| 10 weeks 5 days ago | This |
This will never get old. |
| 10 weeks 5 days ago | Shane Morris |
Shane Morris also was offered by Bama. |
| 11 weeks 2 days ago | Sources..? |
You claim to be an IU student (presumably a Junior since you mentioned interning), not this Coach Brown dude, yet you vehemently defend him and have two sources on a 2014 recruit. Interesting... |
| 12 weeks 1 day ago | Listen buddy |
If you really think a lanky kid can control the forearm and upper arm of a 325 lb fatass to the point where he slightly nudges his balls... Well, I've got a Ford Pinto to sell you. Guarantee you'll love it. |
| 12 weeks 2 days ago | Agree |
I think the same thing, but I don't think the Izzone kids we see on TV are at all representative of the students there (or even the Izzone as a whole, for that matter). The kids they show are ridiculous. |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | Brian addressed this but |
You know he got absolutely hacked on that missed layup right? |
| 14 weeks 6 days ago | Huge difference.. |
Look at our schedules, first off, and compare losses. Second, they've got a coach that (while once great) seems to be losing his grip on the team and in-state dominance of recruiting. In the past they always got who they wanted as far as Texas recruiting; this year, they've completely crumbled. Finally, we were a dumpster fire.. two years ago. Now we clearly are rebuilding under a new coach both on the field and in recruiting. This comparison is baseless. P.S. They lost by 40 to their biggest rival. |
| 15 weeks 13 hours ago | To be fair |
He took the Stanford job because they were the first school to offer him a head coaching gig. From there the 49ers just wooed him best in January 2011, when pretty much every NFL team was begging for his services. |
| 15 weeks 2 days ago | Anyone else catch |
Anyone else catch Stauskas's "I'm baaack" after hitting that second 3? Awesome. |
| 15 weeks 4 days ago | Huh? |
What exactly is a Nucky? |
| 15 weeks 6 days ago | Whoops |
Was meant for above posts which reference the Bible in terms of Hoke crying. Not sure how mine ended up here, probably messed up what I was doing through the app. |
| 15 weeks 6 days ago | Getting religious? |
Prob shouldn't be brought up IMO. |
| 16 weeks 2 days ago | Well... |
It's a matter of the court of public opinion, where signs point to Ray Lewis having - at the very minimum - a fairly significant role in the deaths of two people. Throw in the fact that he disposed of his suit from that night, took a plea deal based on him turning in two of his friends with him... Yeah, just a matter of connecting the dots. |
| 17 weeks 3 days ago | Higher |
Rivals has him at 14. |
| 17 weeks 3 days ago | No kidding |
OSU is ranked the #2 class, a full four spots above us, despite having 4 fewer commitments and 1 less 4-star. I'm not sure how they end up composing these rankings, but that doesn't make much sense. All things considered, I think Rivals team rankings make the most sense. The methodology is transparent and simple (unlike 247), and they only count the top 20 commits in each class, taking out an oversigning bonus you'd get at Scout. |
| 17 weeks 5 days ago | 5dimes |
I've used Bovada and Sportsbook as well, but 5Dimes is the best IMO. It offers the best odds on futures bets, more player-friendly spreads and reduced juice, plus you can have payouts deposited directly to your bank account. |
| 17 weeks 6 days ago | IU |
IU on a ridiculous run the past 10+ minutes; looks like they go through their own "unstoppable" phases just like us. Going to be an awesome matchup on February 2nd. |
| 18 weeks 13 hours ago | Recruiting visit for Tech |
While on dinner with some kids he was recruiting for Texas Tech, he got up to "go to the bathroom." In that time was he was told he had been offered the job at Cincy, and he left the restaurant without saying anything to the recruits. |
| 18 weeks 2 days ago | Weird day |
Looking at top 25 scores on ESPN.com it's a pretty weird day for college hoops.. All of the teams playing in dogfights of sorts, with our game currently being the widest margin. |
| 18 weeks 2 days ago | Check again |
Going into NSD, every analyst at both Scout and Rivals predicted him to go to Stanford. Unless your info was solely based on MGoBoard material, I'm not sure where you're getting it from. |
| 18 weeks 2 days ago | Today's mind of Mike |
Farrell seems to reiterate his point again today, saying Michigan is on top and it's tough to see anyone else getting him. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1457820 |
| 18 weeks 3 days ago | Sort of relates |
Sort of relates to the thread topic of "should we buckle up"... Probably would've made more sense if it was the first comment. |
| 18 weeks 4 days ago | One minor issue.. |
That '05 Illinois team went on to lose in the title game to UNC (arguably the best team of the '00s) after nearly finishing the regular season unbeaten. |
