"The University of Illinois is also in turmoil. The university sports an Interim Chancellor, an Interim Athletic Director, and an Interim Football Coach; the game will be played at Soldier Field, making this an Illini Interim Home Game."

Peppers on offense reminds me of one of the most electric players that I've seen in college football - Reggie Bush at USC. They even wear the same number and essentially the same body size with the combination of power and speed.
If Peppers could do on the Michigan offense what Bush did for USC, it's a no-brainer that Peppers should move to offense.

Whatever is genuine and comes from your heart. If you want to know the details of what the family is going through, go to Tammi Curtis Carr's facebook page. she's been pretty open with sharing and I admire her faith and strength during these times.

Here is the retrospective piece of Drew Henson's long 10 years:
"Looking back now, maybe the best thing would have been just to play my 4 year of football and go through that, because the same opportunities I had in 2001 I would have had 12 months later. "
He's an alumnus and continues to support the program. I'm proud to have him still be a Michigan man.

Perhaps the argument for a 5th year could be made on the severity of the injury. An achilles tendon injury recovery could take up to 9 months, which would prevent Ojemudia from showcasing his abilities in front of pro teams until after they have their summer rosters set. Will the NCAA consider what's best for an athlete on a case by case basis? Worth a try. They owe Michigan one for McGary.

I wasn't using it as a slur. For these types of rankings, you have to be multi dimensional in arts, engineering, medicine, law, etc. These state schools were first set up to sustain agriculture but since have excelled in other areas as well. Kudos for state schools across the nation.

John Wooden, the greatest coach in college basketball history said this:

Winning and graduating players are a result of doing it the right way:

The last transition from Nike to Adidas was not about the dollar amount. Nike was more than willing to match it. It was one clause in the contract that Adidas was willing to go along with that Nike wasn't. And before you ask what it was, I am not able to comment on it.

Every thread about uniforms someone worries about these companies "messing up" Michigan's traditional uniforms. There are many examples of Nike maintaining the consistent, traditional look (Texas, Penn State, Alabama). It is entirely up to the school how much Uniformz they want to adopt. Don't blame Adidas for the bumblebee uniforms of the past, blame Dave Brandon. With Harbaugh and Hackett, it appears that Michigan is (rightly) going more traditional. So stop your hand wringing and bark up the correct tree.

Idealistic undergrads don't affect these deals as much as they hope or want. These protests across the country did help with the creation with the Fair Labor Association, although Michigan undergrads favored the more socialist Workers Rights Consortium. But no, the "student body" did not force the decision.

Having been in the business, this stuff does matter to coaches and athletes, abeit to different levels. Jim Harbaugh has been a "Nike guy" his entire career, wearing Nike cleats as an athlete and even wearing cleats as a coach. So, advanatage Nike.
But this is ultimately Jim Hackett's decision, it's in his job description to worry about this stuff. I would expect nothing but a thorough, well-considered decision by Hackett seeing how he handled the coaching search. If it's not just about the highest monetary bid, I do expect Michigan to go back to Nike since they would bring the best package possible among the main players.
