17 weeks 5 days ago	I played for 7 or 8 years	I played for 7 or 8 years.  The funny thing is that I didn't play after freshman year in high school when I played running back at 90 pounds and literally got thrown around a bunch.  After high school, though, I gained 6 inches in height and played at about 180 pounds.  *That* was fun. We hit every Sunday morning for 2 hours.  One year, I played nose tackle and one of my friends was the center.  As soon as he moved the ball, bam!  Then we would get up and our stomachs hurt from laughing so hard. I had to stop after a living in Alabama for a couple of years as I had transitioned to tailback, but it was really hard just showing up for the game and getting the timing on plays and handoffs right. I wish I could play now (despite the fact that I will turn 53 this week). Tim

Yea!  I made actually made it to a game this year and, as a tribute, went Brady in the 4th quarter.  Lost the sweatshirts and went to a T-Shirt only (and convinced the girl next to me to do the same (Hi Carolyn!).. I think Going Brady in the 4th quarter should become a tradition!   Who is with me? BTW, I met Thomas Rawls and Raymon Taylor walking back from the game.  I am so jealous of those guys because I wish I would have had the opportunity to play Michigan football (I was too small and grew 6"/50 pounds after high school)..

Many athletes are aware of how they can have a positive impact on the community and I expected T'eo would be included in that group.  Hopefully his leadership in this area will be infectious.   I believe that Brady Hoke and his staff work hard to make sure every player they have at Michigan, and will bring to Michigan, fit that profile. As far as hate and ignorant fans, I haven't experienced that here in Alabama.  In fact, after the game this year, I usually get looks of pity when I wear my Michigan gear.  I just smile, say Alabama beat the pants off of us this year and tell them that Alabama showed us where we need to be. 37 weeks 4 days ago	Drove Home To Alabama	My story: Drove from East Tawas to Huntsville to watch the game in the comfort of my house.   Stayed in Lima, OH; the Johnny Winter Band pulled into the hotel just behind us; looked up Johnny Winter's website and saw pictures of him playing blues with Clapton, Stevie Ray, BB, Jimmy Hendrix and Janis Joplin..  When we got up and left the hotel, the band was already gone (on their way to Pine Knob for a show).  We are not morning people. Hit Cincy to see my wife's grandparents; she had to go to Crate & Barrel first (are you fucking kidding me, right?).  Drove home in time for a good night's sleep in my own bed (for the first time in a couple of weeks). Got up in time for GameDay; wished I were there.  My son's Alabama girlfriend came over in time for the game; she waitressed all day before the game, dressed in full Alabama garb, and said she got a great tip from a table of Michigan fans (*classy* as always!) Watched the game and ate tons of fattening food; paced as always.  Didn't sit until it was about 31-0.  Proud to be a Michigan fan and can't wait until the next game.  This was one game.  There will be others and hopefully we continue to win most of them.
37 weeks 4 days ago	When, not if	It seems I remember a quote where it was said that it is a matter of when, not if, Brady Hoke leads Michigan to a NC.  We aren't quite there yet; I believe we will be.
38 weeks 20 hours ago	WTF?	I was home in Michigan earlier this week and saw this..  WTF?  On the other hand, the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich wasn't bad. Michigan 31-13..   OK, I admit it..  I like prime numbers and palindromes..

My son-in-law, who is serving as a nurse with the Michigan National Guard in Afghanistan, wished me "Happy Father's Day OB" via Facebook..   On the other hand, he is the kid that made me a grandfather late last year way before my time..   So what is the "OB"?   My granddaughter will not call me grandpa, she will call me OB.   We will tell her later that it stands for Old Bastard..

1 year 7 weeks ago	Michigan Banner in Ft Payne	I went climbing in the Little River Canyon last week and stopped by the Little River Cafe for breakfast...   They had a ton of pennants and other Alabama banners, but there was also a Michigan pennant hanging there as well..   Come to find out, one of the owners is from downriver somewhere.  And here I thought they had hung it to honor their 'next victim'..  <BigGrin> BTW, we need to have a game-watching party in Huntsville..   I know of a number of M fans here.. 1 year 7 weeks ago	Pinching	My injury was 30 years ago and I can still remember having the inability to grab a towel..  It hurt like hell back then, but it healed completely with no pain.  As a rock climber, I often have to grab holds that are actually called 'pinches', so I am glad there are no lingering effects.. When I hurt mine, I swear my thumb actually bent back and touched my arm.  I can see how you could do something like that making a tackle. Tim
1 year 7 weeks ago	Skiers Thumb	I did the skiers thumb thing many years ago skiing in Montana.  I skied on it the rest of the day and it was painful, but the pain was gone after a month or two and it has never given me problems since that time.. Tim

1 year 19 weeks ago	It's home	I grew up in Crystal which is about 50 miles northwest of Lansing.  In the late 70's, we used to watch the Michigan games on TV, then go out and beat the snot out of each other playing sandlot tackle football (i.e. no pads)..  When I watch Michigan football, I feel at home. For my sons and daughter, however, they got it by osmosis.  Now, my daughter is a UM grad and my son is a senior at UM; my other son wants to go to UM (and I would think about UM for grad school if I didn't already own my own company). 1 year 20 weeks ago	Gumbo	As I couldn't really afford the time to get the plane out of the hangar and fly the 2 hrs to New Orleans due to laziness, I will be kneeling in front of the 60" screen.  Sitting during the game is really frowned upon at my house. My wife is making gumbo assisted by my adult kids; I have to stop and get her *beer* on the way home from the office. I swear we are going to make it to the opener in Dallas.. Tim

1 year 25 weeks ago	Bama will be beatable	Bama will lose much of their secondary to either graduation or to the draft; they may also lose their Heisman tailback to the draft.  I expect it to be a good game. Tim
