I watched most of this game, and Washington’s offense is absolutely STINKY. I mean really really really bad. Doesn’t project to be the matchup we expected

I get that this is MGoBlog and being negative is what the cool kids do, but this is not 2020.  We had a normal spring, summer and fall camp, the season was never cancelled and restarted, we did not have our starting QB opt out of the season, and we have fans in the stands again.  Homefield advantage should actually exist.

Think about what happened to Washington. If Michigan had lost its opener and then had to fly 2000 miles to play a night road game against a traditional top 25 team, what would the level of confidence here be?

I get the CoVid excuses are cool, but we really don’t want to compare what we went through to what MSU went through last year. And they came in fresh off a loss to Rutgers, as three and a half TD underdogs and beat us.

Doesn’t mean it will happen this time. But it does mean it’s a rational reaction for fans to not get overconfident in our expectations of what happens this week.

He was born in the Bitterroot Valley in the early morning rain
Wild geese over the water heading north and home again
Bringing a warm wind from the south
Bringing the first taste of the spring
His mother took him to her breast and softly she did sing

Oh Montana, give this child a home
Give him the love of a good family and a woman of his own
Give him a fire in his heart, give him a light in his eyes
Give him the wild wind for a brother and the wild Montana skies

Montana always has a strong team and no one should take them lightly. However them going into Seattle and beating Washington like they did was totally unexpected. Watched a fair amount of the game and Montana pretty much controlled the entire game. Really wasn’t as close as the score indicated

Passing yards aren’t bad, the three int’s are though. Their rushing game was abysmal with 65 yards. I hope our guys don’t start to overlook them because they got beat by Montana. Washington will be out for blood next week too.

I certainly hope Michigan doesn’t overlook them, but Montana’s linebackers were not only living in the Washington backfield—they were putting in a new patio and redoing the kitchen. And Montana stuffed Washington’s running “attempts” at the line of scrimmage over and over again. You can safely ignore the stats in this one. Montana’s defense dominated. So if Michigan can’t beat this OL in the trenches and get pressure on the QB… well, that would be surprising
