Burzynski's not a name I'm all that familiar with, any insight on him beyond what's on his MGOBlue profile page?  Kovacs et al. have made me far more open-minded towards walkons, so I'm curious if he has a real shot to become a contributor, or at least provide non-terrifying depth.

This is a very minor point but if memory serves, Bruce's odd career trajectory also had to do with the transition from only decent player on a very bad, very punished team to role player on a team with a number of talented Scott Drew recruits.

As long as we're on wrestling, does anyone know of any former Michigan wrestlers who have transitioned to MMA?  Off the top of my head I can think guys in the UFC who wrestled at State, OSU, Penn St. and Purdue but I don't remember hearing about any Wolverines in the Octagon or any other big promotions.

I realize everyone else with something to say probably chimed in on the original thread, but after reading this I find myself really hoping Matt Godin ends up going Blue.  And I think it's great his brother got his back and did so rationally and articulately.  Does this make them the diametric opposites of the Borens?

This may be (definitely is?) oversimplifying, but if at any point during the season Gardner gives the team a better chance to win, I see playing him as a positive.  I'd love for him to have an extra year to develop but if burning a year means more wins this year, I'm okay with it.  i realize how shortsighted that is, but such is college football.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who thought so.  I was scrolling quickly and actually stopped to see why there was a picture of the prez's head Photoshopped onto a UM basketball player.

I was actually wondering the same thing.  Admittedly it's not overly likely that a guy goes from walk-on FB to legitimate Big 10 starting LB, but it's theoretically possible.  Do we have any indication how plain old Moundros the LB looks, as opposed to "Moundros the walk-on who as a FB a year ago and may have jumped decent recruits who we'd be more comfortable having as starters"?
