...And I am enjoying reading every one of them!  :)  This story really drives home to me what a fantastic culture this team and program must have.  As a long-time coach (of a different sport at the high school level) it's the trickiest thing to get right, and the hardest thing to sustain.

Maybe that's Harbaugh's secret sauce as a coach-building that brotherhood, where every player and coach does the absolute maximum so they don't let the other guys down.  Magical things happen when that's the case, and it does seem to be so here.

Hits home a bit with me when my son broke his forearm bone snowboarding.  In his case, "surgery" (as the doctor called it) entailed no cutting through the skin.  They pulled the bones apart, realigned them, and released the tension.  A soft cast was put in place over the forearm due to swelling after the "surgery".

Looks like Zak has a thick Ace bandage wrap on his leg - may have had the same procedure.

Why yes, funny you should ask.  I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

I would like to ask the mods to be more zealous in either dumping or demanding changes to messages that offer only a link. Time and again, we ask that people be courteous enough to supply a short resume. This has become so prevalent that I am quite sure many newer posters don't even recognize that it's the very simple ask.

Offer us a brief summary of the info at the link. Tell us why we should click on it. Please.

While we're making requests, here's another one: Could OPs post the original story? I don't think there's a good reason to post an "Apple News" link.

It's really easy:

I'm sure USA Today is doing just fine, but posting a direct link might matter more with the handful of local papers that are still around.

Tough for Zinter.  So happy for him that we won.  Bad enough to break your leg like that but so much better to enjoy the win than to wonder if you'd been healthy if we could have won.  Great kid.

Anyone have a link to a form of NIL we could support?  I did a google search and found an on3 page and a bunch of links talking about his deals but nothing to directly support.  Thought it might mean something to have Michigan fans still behind him.

I am interested in knowing how this happened. There was absolutely no replays of the play with his injury. Yes, I am wondering if it was malicious. Although we were able to score a rushing TD after Zinter left the game he is a huge part of this team and his loss hurts.

It was not malicious. You can somewhat see what happened in the broadcast from a bad camera angle of the incident. JTT landed on top of Zak’s leg that was in a compromising position to handle JTT’s weight against it. Michigan players (Keegan for sure) and coaches were consoling JTT while Zak was being treated on the field.

Good to know

When he was on the ground and all the players were on the field there were 4 OSU players really close to where he fell (apart from the rest of the OSU team) and JTT was one of them.   I looked up the guys by their #s and it was basically their starting DL.

I don't know any details but Fitzgerald Toussaint suffered a similar injury but it's never exactly the same.  I am hoping Zak will be able to make a full recovery.

With limited info, it appears similar to the Toussaint injury. It could be repaired with a rod inside the tibia and a few screws to hold it in place. If it was compound, there would be a skin graft. Crutches for a 1-2 months and rehab for 6-8 months. I would think a lineman would be closer to recovering 99% than a skill player who relies on quickness and cutting.

Small Footnote on Zinter is Harbaugh praised Jordan brands for allowing the team to put 'splats'?  on the shoes?  I'm assuming it's some kind of ankle brace.  And Jim said Zinter had a knee brace on which probably helped prevent a more severe injury.
