| 6 weeks 3 days ago | Burke will thrive against this zone. |
A zone D by name allows that different defenders will be responsible for guarding Burke once he enters their zone. This switching - or help in the instant the switch begins - is what Burke thrives on. This switch invariably creates a lane for a slashing GRRR or Son of Gary which is usually then followed by a Spode from 3B. They can say all they want that they'll shut him down, but if they know in the back of their heads that they're suppose to have help, then unconsciously their D slacks near the switch point. BOOM, you're beaten > defensive help comes > Spode and a dunk! Teams need a lock-down defender to slow Burke down, defenders who know they and they alone are responsible with no help coming - ala Craft and Oladipo. Zone defenses, like fixed-fortifications, are monuments to the stupidity of man.
(At least this is what I keep telling myself)

Why go for it, up the middle no less, with a lot of time left (8-ish minutes) when you have a great punter? Pin them and ask your defense to stop them in order to shorten our own field! I couldn't believe this call. It made no sense. NO SENSE! You can say we only ended up allowing 3 points, but that same defensive stand following a punt gets us the ball back at the 50 after they punt. It was at this time that I really lost faith in our coach's decision making. Hoops don't fail me now! |

On Ryan's sack and forced fumble. It's at the 6:26 mark of the highlight reel. Ryan comes from his left end and loops straight up the middle untouched, slips, gets up and hammers O'Toole causing a fumble. Talk about Clay modeling. |

Has nothing to do with laying railroad tracks, but instead references his fiendish coke habit.

| 31 weeks 6 days ago | Lincoln predicted it |
"Four score and 7.." Which of course equals 35. I know, "Why not just 5 score?" you ask. Lincoln liked to mix things up as evidenced by his cabinet appointments, the Civil War, demanding to be all-time shuffler during Thursday "euchre" nights, etc. So, 35 + Abe's hat size (7 5/8") + the number of 4-year terms he completed (1 1/16) = 43.6875, rounded to the nearest whole number = 44 Michigan 44 The number of times Abe anticipated standing on the moon - 0 Illinois 0 Yep, he bet against his home team. Coincidentally, he also bet against the Union. He took the South and the points and ended up winning anyway. Crafty that splitter of rails. |

No laughing at the good Professor. You may all commence laughing instead at tenuously related comedic videos. (In good conscience)

That throw to Funchess in the video was pretty, but it was - once again - off his back foot. Granted, there was pressure, but back footed throws make me as nervous as Joey Chestnut in prison. |

Open ass, remove head. Nothing political about remembering/honoring those who loved and lost on one of the saddeest days in our nation's history. What a tool! |

My freshman year. I had quite a buzz as I remember. Quite a buzz indeed. Only beat ND by 8 so the discount on pizza at Pizza House was only 8%...but when we beat Minnesota by 41 later on down the road, I'm pretty sure our entire Rumsey Hall had Pizza House that night with a 41% discount. Pizza (Smegma) House was awful! |
