Thank you Jerry Meyer.... your thoughtfulness won't go unnoticed.

Can I assume that this Crystal Ball was for the good guys?
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:02 PM ^
It is widely thought that UM leads. So yes, despite the lack of mention from OP, you can assume that is the case.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:46 PM ^
People have been asking for more info in the title. Now you want OP to put in the rest of the info in too?
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:50 PM ^
There is an option to add more info underneath the title.
December 23rd, 2019 at 6:11 PM ^
No shit Sherlock.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:14 PM ^
Very nice!
Dickinson, Williams, Todd, Christopher, and Jackson.
The new Fab 5.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
Obviously getting Christopher is ideal, but a class of Dickinson, Williams, Todd, Howard, and Jackson is pretty damn good too
December 23rd, 2019 at 8:50 PM ^
Is Christopher a realistic option right now or is it just fluff? (Howard’s already put together one hell of a class best in the big ten) but adding Christopher would be a National championship type class. We have 3 commits and 4 open scholarship spots. We can still sign 2 more players considering that someone will either transfer or go to the nba after this season. I love the direction of this program! Go Blue!
December 24th, 2019 at 8:16 AM ^
Christopher isn't coming here.
December 24th, 2019 at 1:17 PM ^
Always important to have a ''Jackson" when you're putting together a Fab Five.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:16 PM ^
Now we just need a shooting guard. Basketball recruiting seems a lot easier than football recruiting right now.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
New coaches always get a bump. That's why people tend to think that a coach needs to be successful in their first few years to make a team jump into elite status - otherwise recruiting suffers after the new coach smell wears off.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
I don’t think that’s the trend you think it is, at least not in basketball.
New coaches are working from way behind in terms of relationships, which matter more in hoops than anywhere else given the small pool of elite players and wide net of suitors.
You do have to show success to be successful long-term but if anything I’d expect Juwan’s recruiting to improve over the next several years.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:49 PM ^
Howard is a likable guy. He’s the type of person and has the type of personality that people want to be around. Jim on the other hand...
December 23rd, 2019 at 6:18 PM ^
Have you been around Jim? How about Howard? Are you just bullshitting?
December 23rd, 2019 at 7:24 PM ^
I’ve been around Jim a few times, he’s a nice guy but definitely comes off as odd. The same guy you see on Tv is the same guy you eat breakfast with. Parents like him because he’s not slimy and dirty. Genuine good dude, btw we had a cool discussion about Tv shows. We have similar interests. Not judge Judy
Juwan I’ve never met, I hope too one day! Seems like a great guy, not odd like Harbaugh.
December 24th, 2019 at 8:49 AM ^
I can tell you that football players do not think Harbaugh is a player’s coach. He is in no way your pal. It’s too early to tell from Howard.
i don’t know what GOMBLOG’s angle is, but he is correct. Harbaugh beats the team up in pre-season and I have had one player tell me if you injured you are “dead to him”
I’m not being critical here you can be a successful coach like this. Giants won Super Bowls with guys like this as coaches
December 23rd, 2019 at 7:15 PM ^
Will you ever knock off the personal attacks on Harbaugh, Mr. Gom Blog?
December 24th, 2019 at 12:16 AM ^
That’s a question a reasonable person would ask. But your asking it of someone who has a perverse personality so you are wasting your time. It’s sad at best.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
Dickinson, Williams, Todd, Christopher, and Jackson.
That would be incredible. One question: what would happen with Jace Howard? Would he come as a walk-on, gray shirt, or go elsewhere?
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
I'm not 100% sure what our scholarship situation is right now, but if Davis grad transfers and Nunez transfers then maybe we can take 6 guys? I'm not sure
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
If I recall we will have 3 seniors(Davis-RS, Simpson and Teske). Along with Matthews unused scholarship that could possibly give us 4 open slots. Figure on one transfer and we can get to five possibly?
Edit: I don’t see an early entrant on this team, but I didn’t see one last year either, so take that for what it’s worth. ??♂️
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
There are currently two unused scholarships.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
I thought Franz took that one?
December 23rd, 2019 at 5:52 PM ^
There would have been 3 without Franz.
13 scholarships are allowed, we have 11 scholarship players.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
Screw that... I want Davis to stay... he played well recently and is a THUMPER. I hope Nunez sticks around too.
December 23rd, 2019 at 11:57 PM ^
I think there is a better chance than people think that Davis will be here next year. Juwan probably wants three true centers on the roster as an insurance policy for potential injury and foul trouble situations.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
Attrition always works itself out.
Probably Livers going pro given the current trends/incentive structures.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
I agree he has the measurables, but his lack of shot creation, strength and rebounding, plus the injury, will probably keep him around another year.
I hope he doesn’t have a groin tear. Has anyone heard?
December 23rd, 2019 at 5:30 PM ^
I just expect most guys with a decision to make to go.
December 23rd, 2019 at 6:19 PM ^
Yes, I heard that Jibbroni hopes Livers doesn't have a groin tear. Although groins have no tear ducts so there likely isn't a tear.
December 23rd, 2019 at 8:55 PM ^
Had me second guessing my spelling. I need to head over to the drinking thread.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:28 PM ^
It basically sounds like it's a done deal unless he hates the campus and has a bad experience. It's the only official visit he's set since his decommitment
December 23rd, 2019 at 6:28 PM ^
I read an article where he is quoted as saying he has 5 more visits as a senior and intends on taking them all. Says he's gonna take visits to UCLA, Notre Dame, Miami Fla, and claims hes still interested in Geogetown. Maybe we can lock it up this weekend but I dont see Howard being like that, hes the players coach, so he wont push a commit if the kid wants to visit elsewhere.
December 23rd, 2019 at 3:35 PM ^
If Todd enrolls in college, this would be a great class and Juwan would have a lot of pieces to work with.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
I really like Williams as a college player. Has that type of game where he looks like he should be able to step into the rotation and contribute as a freshman before going on to be a really solid 4 year player. Similar to Dickinson he is a guy you can really use as a building block for a program as he should be around as an upperclassman. That allows you to go swing for the fences on some higher rated prospects and be alright if they don't end up coming.
December 23rd, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
Agreed. Dickinson, Williams and Jackson should be 3+ year players. Keep sprinkling in some dynamic 5 stars around them and off we go. Think this years core( Z, Teske, and Livers) with a couple of 5 stars mixed in. Intrigued yet?
December 23rd, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
Completely agree, despite what some people on this blog want to believe, you need some lower rates guys who are going to stay for 3-4 years to build your program around, build culture, and maintain stability instead of only going for 5 stars
December 23rd, 2019 at 6:38 PM ^
I feel like Calipari is starting to see the negatives of a ton of 5 star one and dones on your team annually. Duke has really ramped their recruiting up the last several years and are now right there with UK on the 5 star train. Imagine having a generational talent like Zion and then having two other top 10 NBA picks and not even going to the final four
December 23rd, 2019 at 6:17 PM ^
yeah you absolutely need those foundation pieces and jackson, dickinson and williams would form a nice trio.
williams has a tweener body type, similar to kris jenkins who also played at gonzaga though theyre different players. if he develops his shooting range and at least a minor ability to attack off the dribble, williams could be a tough matchup. some may compare him to livers due to size, position projection, etc though livers was more explosive leaper and better shooter at same stage (with more wing skills). if forced to compare to other recent wolverines, id say his level of athleticism and game more resemble max bielfeldt or maybe even jordan morgan (though morgan slid bw 4-5 while jenkins is clearly a 4 in 3 body).
overall, hes an interesting prospect and would be a solid addition should howard close the deal
December 23rd, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
That's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.
December 23rd, 2019 at 5:27 PM ^

Any relation to Meyer Lansky?

A small crystal ball??
December 23rd, 2019 at 8:28 PM ^
Those that are from Michigan, what can you provide about Brandon Wade's game and how that might translate to Michigan? I did a google search for him and found an article from some Ann Arbor website that is citing sources where hes already transferred to Michigan. I know he was mentioned the other day after Ant Wrights tweet. It lists him at 6'2 180, which will put him right there with Brooks and DD. Thoughts and info?
December 24th, 2019 at 12:33 AM ^
Are we expecting Williams to be more of a 3 than a 4? That seems to be the consensus. We are absolutely loaded at the 4 next year if Livers returns. We’d have Todd, Livers, Johns, and Williams... I have a bad feeling that Williams recruitment says that Todd may be a softer commit. But then again, a player like Todd shouldn’t be threatened by competition. He would be a huge get.
December 24th, 2019 at 11:04 AM ^
There will be attrition. I think Livers is likely to go pro. Hes a prototypical 3 and d wing in the NBA who seems likely for a late 1st round draft grade. Usually that means they gone.
December 24th, 2019 at 1:37 PM ^
Are we sure that Todd is just a 4? Based on his game and shooting ability, I could see playing him at the 3 also.
December 26th, 2019 at 8:21 PM ^
Isaiah is the definition of a position-less player...well, actually, I guess he is the opposite-as he can play them all. If you were coaching against him and he was playing in a PG role...how would "you" defend him??? I'm not sure what strategy, other than zone, I would employ. The raw talent this 17ish year old kid holds is special-could be one of the next "generational" players. He still has a lot to figure out about the game and this is why, despite my angst, I believe he will finally sign up for a year of Juwan's tutelage. Hope I'm right.
Williams should come to take Todd's roster position-after Isaiah leaves. That will give him a year to settle into the college game and better understand Michigan's style of play. I believe Williams is an intelligent, underrated young basketball player.
