12 shots to get 12 points. Trey needs to work on getting to the line. Although he's shooting a bit better, the efficiency numbers are taking a hit because of the lack of FT attempts.

Does Hoke undermine Borges? Would Borges prefer to call games such as this last one, or is he shoehorned to call a more conservative plan by Hoke?
Or is it the opposite?

Be like them little bitches on a chess board.
It's a great metaphor. We're tired, we're old, we feel the general malaise. We've been in this game for quite a long time, through coaching changes, great victories, stunning defeats. But what are we getting in return? Marlo keeps changing the game for the worse, destroying and leaving the community powerless in his wake. We have no power, we're pawns in this game. What's the way out? Do we do the godforsaken thing and stop coming to games? Do we "snitch" to police?

Brandon practiced for Bo. That narrative is a tired bit.
|1 week 3 days ago||Mmhmm.||
We didn't deserve that bid.
|1 week 3 days ago||Yeah...||
Except Beilein had won in something like 28/30 years as a coach. Hoke's track record... considerably less.
|1 week 3 days ago||I see a reason.||
Look at those "state of the open threads". People cussing, getting angry at each other, having heart attacks. Maybe it'll make someone take a step back and wonder if it's really worth it.
|1 week 3 days ago||I hope you come back.||
Fandom should be exciting. For Michigan football, it's just not anymore. Just a comedy of errors and incompetence.
You can compare it to RR, but at least then we had a coach with success at prior stops, and hope he'd be able to continue that at Michigan.
You can compare it to basketball, but for 15 years we had underachieved. Had gotten used to it.
This is different. And it feels like there's no way out. Not even an exciting performance that gives us hope. That at least happened during previous down years (2001, 2005).
|1 week 3 days ago||Me too as a BB fan||
But I can empathize with the apathy for football. It's a different dynamic. Basketball, we could rationalize the failure that's been a hallmark of most of our fandom. Even in the mid-90s, we were underachieving quite a bit.
When you're clinging to tired platitudes and traditions, until a change is made, until we generate some excitement, that fire isn't coming back.

How does the BTCG loser get penalized for getting to that game and losing? Switch the Spartans and Badgers.

Using FEI, the average rankings of conference teams:
Pac 12 36.5
Big 12 44
Big 10 49.83
|1 week 4 days ago||so based on this, I'd say they're slightly above expectation||
Auburn > WSU, Oregon > Virginia, Tennessee, OSU > Cal should all be gimmes.
UCLA > Nebraska, USC > BC, and ASU > Wisconsin, NW > Cal should have all be fairly even.
Washington slight favorites over Illinois.

I'm not talking about Michigan...
Besides, like I said to the other guy, Arizona's OL is consistently creating holes. If you return a group that's consistently getting good ypc... there's more of a chance they'll continue to do that. If the group that's returning less people isn't getting good ypc... there's much less of a chance they'll be able to get good ypc.
|1 week 4 days ago||For reference, conference records:||
Auburn 6-1 WSU 4-4
NW 0-7 Cal 0-8
Oregon 6-2 Virginia 0-7
UCLA 5-2 Nebraska 5-2
USC 5-2 BC 4-3
Washington 3-4 Illinois 1-6
Oregon 6-2 Tennessee 1-5
Ohio State 7-0 Cal 0-7
ASU 6-1 Wisconsin 6-1
ASU 6-1 ND (overall 8-3)

USC 35 Boston College 7
Washington 34 Illinois 24

Ohio State 52 Cal 34
ASU 32 Wisconsin 30

SEC > Big 12 = Pac 12 > ACC >> Big 10
|1 week 4 days ago||You sure he's leaving?||
Illogical post anyway. Arizona consistently creates holes. Returning OL from that group should continue, if not improve their running game. Michigan isn't getting running room, is getting blown off the ball, and lose more OL. You'll get it next time.
Also, Michigan loses their two best offensive linemen.
|1 week 4 days ago||RR has learned quite a bit since 2008.||
One, recognizing the importance of Casteel. There wasn't any doubt he'd move to Arizona. Now that's not saying he didn't pursue Jeff to come to Michigan.
Embracing Arizona traditions. Making it a point to say things even in his introductory press conference.
Football-wise, it's been a much bigger balance on offense. Denker has made huge improvements throwing the ball as the season has gone on. I thought after Scott graduated, they'd move into the primarily run-oriented style.
That offense will really take off next year. A young group of WRs, Carey, 4/5 OL. 4 star redshirt freshman QB. Already a top 20 defense. 5 P12 home games.

Also, look into Duke's coordinators. Not sure if Cutcliffe runs more of the offense, but they've had an unusually good season.

|3 weeks 1 day ago||So basically||
The inverted veer series should have an option of who you're optioning off based on alignment. That DE aligns straight up on Schofield, which then allows the u-back to get to the OLB. The unblocked guy is then the MLB, which should be Gardner's read.
His alignment in this place dictates a semi-double team, allowing the OLB to run free. This isn't optimal, but if he doesn't open up wide, this walls off the MLB somewhat. So Gardner should read the OLB here.
If these above are true, I'm guessing it's once again, an issue of practice time. You devote a great deal to running out of the shotgun/pistol/spread, you're familiar with various options, fronts, adjustments, and they're the generally the same as you're operating from the same base. But with this "mixed bag" of offensive plays, counters to mitigate our plays maybe aren't being discussed/drilled.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Also||
You refer to slide protections as being "high school level". What makes it that much easier than gap protection? What are a few things teams will do to attack a slide protection?
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Since I've got your ear||
In your blog post, you mention something about how one needs to be able to roll to both sides.
Considering strengths/weaknesses of rolling to each side, do you find there are different routes/throws available on each roll? How about rolling to the field or boundary?
