Or it could have had the opposite effect and they ran even less bubbles (or delayed deploying them) because they didn't want to "give in" to Heiko; and thus acknowledge Heiko et al. was right after all

What's even more amazing is that Florida also just got a commit from #2 OT today. The first line of this article says it all though:
"The Florida Gators may not have an offensive coordinator or offensive line coach, but they still managed to land a commitment from the No. 2-ranked offensive tackle in the country, David Sharpe (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence), on Thursday."
So they don't have an OC. Or an O-line coach. They lose 6 players to transfers. What is going on? It's a pure tire fire there, yet somehow they still get a player to commit.

So what type of food is it, if not seafood? What do you call fresh water perch from Lake Erie for instance? Or freshwater shrimp?

You can only say this in hindsight. Geez give the coaches some slack. If DG went down, we all would have been glad Shane got the initial jitters out against whatever MAC team he came in against

Agreed. This whole January 1st games for the B1G are awful. Give it to the Rose and mayble one other bowl. As it happens, I can usually only end up watching one team play (as they have lately put all the games on at the same time!). I'm either driving to a location to watch a team play or driving back, which ends up making me miss the other B1G games. As a conference, we need to get over this Jan 1st love-affair. It's stupid. I'd much rather watch the B1G games on three seperate days than only be able to catch one on Jan 1st.

paying not playing, geez autocorrect (or fat fingers)
I guess I was just thinking that if all the NCAA teams were handicapped by losing their best players to a minor league, then you'd probably not notice much of a difference. Team will still score. Teams will still defend. In this scenario, I would think that big schools like Michigan would end up getting the better talent (just no super-star). We'd end up fielding teams like MSU does every year, with 2* and 3* talent. It'll all be about development for each program.

Too add to the counter argument, why is it that I've never heard it get brought up that these players get "free" weight training, drill training, and greater knowledge of X & Os (on top of a free education and room & board).

Why is the OP panicking? This is stupid. All Mike said was he would need to let it sink in. He didn't even answer the question. Likely he has no clue how Hand's visit affected him so he deflected the question

I think the outrage should be that that play wasn't called a TD. Receiver looks like he too two steps and crossed the goal line with the ball in-hand. He gets hit (in the Endzone) and drops the ball as he's nocked dazed to the ground. I thought once you cross the line, the play is over. Much like if you reached over the goal line and then get the ball knocked out; the fumble doesn't count bc the play is dead.

I think you may be misinterpreting this article. The author is saying that early screening for certain cancers may not help b/c the slow-growing ones can be treated later, and the fast-growing ones are usually detected too late anyway (so you're screwed even with finding it early).
I'm sorry Farnn, you provided a blog and opinion article from the NY Times. Not really a peer-reviewed journal article. Plus the author is mainly talking about one type of screening for prostate cancer as he states:
"We all wish that finding prostate cancer earlier would lead to better outcomes. But as I will tell my patients, that is no reason to keep on ordering the P.S.A. test."
I'm just going to leave it at that, b/c it's futile to disagree on the internet. But please, remember that what you're reading is an opinion piece.
