Risk Day 14- Oh, You're Gonna Declare War With Us? Let's See How That Works Out For You, Aggie

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on April 5th, 2020 at 11:34 AM

As you may have seen, Texas A&M declared war on us yesterday. They are claiming that we provoked them and -- basically -- that it's all our fault. Needless to say, their explanation leaves out key parts of the story. Indeed, it's looking like Texas A&M is the MSU of the south. The less prestigious, lower ranked, lesser known school in their own state (in this situation Texas = Michigan) that wants to pretend they're one of the big boys and wears a chip on their shoulders / gets pissy whenever somebody corrects them.

They're SOMEWHAT more honest than MSU in that their name still acknowledges that they are an agricultural school. Nevertheless, it's clear that we've been trying to negotiate with a little brother as if they were a peer, and little brother has now decided they'd rather play catch with the Evil Empire than be civil with the school that no doubt reminds them of their superior, in-state rival.

So what does this all mean? Simple...it's time to start treating the Aggies like the Southern Sparties they are and put them in their place. Unfortunately, this is going to be somewhat tricky with Ohio State now at our borders (that's a different story of betrayal), but whereas TAM was looking like a big boy a couple turns ago, it's now clear that they were punching above their weight class. We have over 50% more power than they do, and it seems as if -- for all their initial energy and enthusiasm -- their potential has a hard ceiling that is far lower than our own (sound familiar?).

Current Map

How Does the Game Work?

On turn 1, each team starts with their home territory. It is up to each team to recruit players and coordinate moves. You can choose to defend any territory that your team currently holds or attack any adjacent territory. A "roll" happens each evening at 11 PM EST to calculate which teams have won which territories that turn based on the moves that were made by individual players. The ultimate goal is to conquer as much of the map as possible for your team. There are a number of different ways to do this, such as through recruiting players in sheer numbers or forming alliances with other teams.

Steps To Play Every Day:

  1. Sign up for a reddit.com account if you don’t have one already
  2. Visit collegefootballrisk.com – Click Sign in with Reddit – Select Michigan as your team
  3. Visit https://michigancfbrisk.com/ - click “Login using Reddit” – Click “Get an Assignment”
  4. Return to collegefootballrisk.com – Scroll to the bottom of the page and execute your assignment (Note: Simply clicking action so that it becomes highlighted gray confirms the move. There’s no submit or confirm button needed)

So keep playing and keep recruiting. We need you guys more than ever as we look to slap Southern Sparty back down. You need to play every day to get your star level up (your play streak star will reset if you miss a day), and we need every bit of power we can get. While TAM is not in our league, they're still a big hitter (for now), and we also have to defend ourselves against OSU at the same time. It's not going to be easy, but with your help we'll get the job done.

So now we are actively in wars with the 2 other biggest powers in the game? What a mistake. We're going to lose all because of this. The sooner we make peace with A&M, the sooner we can actually make progress. Fighting a war on two fronts against two formidable enemies is awful.

TAMU has always been southern sparty. The way they acted during the Johnny manziel years is the same as the way the Spartans acted during the Dantonio Rose bowl year. Like they’re untouchable and going to dominate forever.

Outside of Risk, that would be Texas Tech.  That fanbase is just a bunch of fucking animals.  Lubbock is a shithole just like East Landfill.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't we be playing this like an alternate version of Risk; meaning the best places to start are S. American and Australia b/c you can create choke points.

So looking at the map and our position, wouldn't it be best to take all of California, then defend territories of S. Oregon, N. Nevada, S. Nevada, and W. Arizona. Only 4 territories to defend a big chunk of land.

I'd love to help but when I click on "get assignment" I get nothing. Is this not compatable with Mac? I've tried a number or different browsers.
