Spot on. I live in ohio and every OSU fan dismisses the hatred for OSU as jelousy. I travel the country for work and can tell you that OSU is loathed Nationaly. I always follow up where I’m from , when asked, that my family is from Michigan and I’m not a buckeye fan.

My dentist is a Nebraska grad.  She loves college ball.  I have first hand experience that folks in Lincoln are the NICEST fans you will meet anywhere outside of A2.

First time she went to Columbus, she was appalled.  Want to get her 0 - 60 in under 3 seconds?  Talk about that shitty fanbase.

 She now roots for:

1.  Nebraska.

1a.  Anyone who plays t(tm)OSU

Same with a Texas colleague of mind.  Pretty much the other 49 states hate Ohio -- and for good reason.

Intellectual property lawyers are notoriously pigs in trying to extend rights beyond anything reasonable.  Major League Baseball is one of the worst offenders.  But this!  This is truly preposterous.

A fight to own the rights of the word THE... Could you be more petty?  You would think someone involved in this would recognize how pointless this is but, here we are...

THE U --> U

The Killers --> Killers

The Bad Boys --> Bad Boys (movie or players?)

THE end --> End

THE last joke I'm going to make --> last joke I'm going to make

Guys I got a new job! Don’t mind me while I tabulate all the usage of “the” in this thread and report back to Ohio State. Expect to hear from Billing.

Only a bunch of ignorant, knuckle-dragging, cavemen would attempt to file a TM application for the most commonly used word in the English language.  That'll go about as far as a one dollar bill at a Ferrari dealership.

 They are not going to get a  trademark on the most commonly used word in the dictionary. They have to know this. So I’m fine with them wasting all kinds of time and money trying to get it to work

My Bro-lo already has one of these obnoxious hats.  This is tremendously on brand for tOSU.  Somebody starts making money on something tangential to the school and their lawyers are all over it with lawsuits and applications for trademarks.  I would be interested to know how many trademarks and copyrights they own.

So during Michigan-Ohio State week, make sure that if you are around Ann Arbor, to find any signage or literature with the word "the" and put a big red X through it.
