I'm seeing Michigan -1 almost everywhere.

It is a toss-up.  That is life on the road in the BIG.  I will say this, if Michigan goes in and wins this game comfortably they and Ohio State are likely on a different level than the rest of the conference.

I think the Michigan -1 line is based on ESPN's BPI whereas the IL - 1.5 is based on vegas.  ESPN's products usually list their internal line until vegas lines are posted but looks like this case, perhaps that field didn't return the vegas line the way it was returned in other spots.

When I was looking the spreads yesterday, I saw Penn State was like a 4 or 5 point favorite over Maryland. I just think that's winning on the road in the B10.

I think Michigan wins by 7-10. I've watched Illinois a few times this season and have been less than impressed, other than a nice showing at Maryland. They have some decent players, but their outside shooting sucks. Pack the paint and Michigan should be good.

Illinois always defends pretty well, it seems.  We certainly won't have looks like we did against Iowa.  Assembly Hall is also one of those venues where the fans are seriously all up in everybody's business.  Not a particularly easy place to shoot the ball, though Michigan's better teams have fared pretty well there.

Perhaps an explanation is in order?  Assembly Hall is where Indiana plays.  And, despite that Illinois' home bball arena was also named Assembly Hall for most of its life, nobody outside of Champaign, Il, or students of UI, know that.  I had to google it.  When mentioning 'Assembly Hall', the only correct answer is Indiana.

So no, Assembly Hall and the State Farm Center are not the same thing, at all.

No.  I mean Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, if you must be technical.

Regardless of naming rights, basketball fans universally recognize 'Assembly Hall' with blue blood Indiana.  Nobody recognizes 'Assembly Hall' as the home of Illinois basketball, especially since that hasn't been its name for six years.  You're just being obtuse.

Obtuse!  Your previous post said Indiana was Simon Skjodt Hall - intentionally dropping 'Assembly' from the name.  Now, all of a sudden, you call it Assembly Hall...

See - I can be technically detailed, pedantic, and obtuse myself!

I am continuing this only because it is amazing how wrongly informed people can be when they kind of rely on group-think like this to get information.  The last poster that I was referring to actually believed, based on what he read, that the venue was never called Assembly Hall.

Indiana may be a better known Assembly Hall, because it is a more unique venue and because Indiana has a more significant basketball history, but it is completely false that Illinois' home venue was never really called Assembly Hall.  It was the name of the building for 50 years.  Every time Michigan has played an away game at Illinois until 2014 they were playing at Assembly Hall.  Ok, it is called something else now because something bought something and owed somebody something else, but pretty much everybody who wasn't born in 2013 would know the building as Assembly Hall because that is what it has always been called.  Not just to “die hard” Illinois fans, but to every fan who has ever referred to it.
