The 1980s. My parents both have graduate degrees from Michigan. We didn't seem to be able to get the premier games back then, but at least once a year my parents would take me to the Big House so watch the Wolverines beat the hell out of teams like Purdue or Maryland. The smell of cigars, fall football, amazing. Hooked ever since.

Wonderful. Congrats to Caris and his family. Take care of your money, young man. Seems like a hell of a young guy with a nice future regardless of how this career goes.

Very similar and size and style to GRIII. However, Glenn wasn't nearly that polished as a high school player. Just a tremendous athlete who put some work in on his game.
It is important to note that by the time this guy is allowed to step on the court in a Michigan uniform, he will already have spent more time in college than GRIII. A year at Kentucky has to equate to some gains, and a year developing under Beilein during the transfer year could be great for this kid.
Lavall Jordan's impact on this guy will be missed, but Saddi Washington was a good big guard and could benefit this kid very much as well. Looking forward to seeing Charles Matthews in the maize and blue.

This is definitely not about playing time, as there will be plenty of that available. The way for Kam to play more would not be to transfer elsewhere, it would be to stop being terrible for Michigan.

I cannot fathom why somebody wants to go to a place where they also feel like they need to carry an assault rifle. I don't ever feel like I need to carry an assault rifle, but if I had places that caused me to feel like I should, I would opt towards avoiding those places.

That actually was the Michigan-OHIO All Star Game. I attended that one at GRCC with Webber, Jalen, etc.
Webber went up for a big dunk and spread his legs, literally going over JB Reafsnyder (Syracuse). This move was later made more famous by Vince Carter in the Olympics going over that poor damn 7-foot Frenchman.

Sr year of high school basketball, playing against a decent GR Central opponent with at least one Div 1 player on their roster.
I was sick as a dog that day. While I was a decent all-City player (@13ppg) this was my night. By halftime, I had five 3's and 19 total. One of my teammates also poured in 12 in the same 2nd quarter where I had 13 of the 19. We beat the living hell out of them that night, and I don't think I left the locker room for the 2nd half.

Holy shit, those are huge hands.
I'm a bigger guy: 6'4, 235 lbs, with big damn hands. I have been able to palm a basketball with either hand since I was a not-nearly-full-grown 14 year old.
Just measured my hands: barely 9.5 inches. Graham has freak hands.

I reset to number 2 better than most college quarterbacks do also. In fact, it's 2:23 in the afternoon, I had some post-lunch coffee... I better start looking for the sports section.

He will be all patched up and ready to dominate on the gridiron this fall.

Can't we just get him up there with 2 Michigan hats? A blue one, and a maize one, or maybe one of those breast cancer pink jobs or the camo 9/11 Rich Rod deal. Then he can just pick a damn Michigan hat, put it on, and we commence Muppets. Deal? Good.

I do not want to start anything, but something in my Facebook feed said something to the effect that Onwenu removed "Michigan commit" from his Twitter profile. I didn't click it. I came to MGoBlog instead, but haven't seen it here, so I hope to goodness its not true. I can usually find the accurate M news here, so I'm glad this hasn't turned up yet.

Double-D's assessment is very very accurate. I'm probably one of a handful of us that has had the chance to see him play both sports.
In basketball, he was just so much of a better athlete than everybody else, that the game looked easy for him. An experienced watcher of hoops would tell you he made shots, but wasn't a great shooter, handled the ball, but wasn't a great ballhandler. He just dominated the competition by being a tremendous athlete.
Football, however, you could really see skills. Highpointing the ball, for instance. Amazing hands snaring the ball about 10 feet off the ground. Wow. We will see this yet in the Maize n' Blue. It's still early.
He would be well behind Rahkman, for instance, in basketball. No way he takes a minute away from Duncan Robinson or someone with a specialty.

Some quick takes from a lifelong hoops junkie:
My goodness these kids can shoot. I know its a Beilein thing, but this should not be considered normal. Most D1 players are more likely to be super athletic than great shooters, and M has a bunch of really, really strong shooters on this roster, in addition to good athletes.
Is Duncan Robinson #20? It's going to be really hard to keep him off the court. Same with MAAR, and DJ Wilson is starting to look really promising.
Take those 3, and if Spike and Dawkins aren't cracking the starting lineup, and I can't imagine there would be a better 2nd unit in college basketball. We haven't even touched Kam Chatman yet.
Little doubt that this team will be significantly better than last year. I'm really excited to watch them. I know its practice, but the skill level with the mid-range and 3-ball shooting is the most exciting.

A highly skilled kid for that age/grade.
Oddly, he reminds me of a good-sized, skilled white boy. Not overly quick or athletic looking, but shoots the lights out and his fundementals are nice. I would love to see more explosiveness for a kid that size. The highlights I saw showed nothing at all like attacking the hoop and flushing one.
Either way, he is going to be a good college player. Get on the plyometrics and jump boxes, if there still is such a thing. The size and skills are great. Go Blue.

The interwebs are providing a large amount of valuable information on this "Sparty Nation" and their "fans".
My experience: the social media side has been surprisingly quiet for a MSU win. The intelligent ones (there are some) know how freaking lucky they got and received a fluke gift.
We get to see who the real assholes are because they are the ones taunting and gloating over this. The Unfollow button was very effectively utilized last night. I wish the shitty sports fans would get in to something other than sports, and leave this arena to us.
As we have come to understand, "pride comes before the fall". The shitty fans we get to hear from now are going to be the first ones to bail on MSU when this series inevitably moves back in the right direction, which was happening for 59:50 just last night.
