Pretty cool if Hoops can match their feat. |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | Such a weird game to revisit... |
Bo's last game (as noted above); Hoke on the sideline - for Ball State; foreshadowing of "the Horror". That game was cold as hell and at the time I thought it was quite underwhelming to attend; now I look back at that and think what a fascinating moment in time it was. |

My mom and little brother would watch the first half in the stadium; we'd walk over from a friend's house on 3rd St. at halftime. Mom and little bro out, Dad and big bro in. With a 12 pack of Miller Lite (all for Dad - I was 8). Between that and the fact that section 16 smelled like some major doobage, I'd have to imagine the games were a good time. #1984 |

Why no Michigan in 2006? I suppose it was because you think 'bama unworthy this year. But I think that 2006 Michigan team would've had a better claim than Louisville, since (at the time of selection) we wouldn't have known what was going to happen against USC... I guess point in time of selection should be factored - hard to say. |

Afterall, recent tax poilicies (Bush tax cuts and subsequent extenders) tend to accomplish precisely the sort of transfer you hypothesize. And to the point above about the non-politics rule here: While this rule is generally a great rule, it should be inapplicable here as this is a perfectly cromulent place and time to discuss. Yes, it's politics but it's directly applicable to Michigan athletics. Title IX had a good and valid purpose when it was created and continues to have a noble goal. But if the mandate to create access has been fulfilled and continued use of the law has perverse outsomes (such as noted above), it's time to revisit. I don't advocate repealing it, but something needs to be done re: revenue sports and non-revenue sports as well as profitable programs vs. un-profitable programs. Identifying that and positing solutions is not "taking shots at Title IX". All in all, a great post by Brian and certainly within his rights to bring up (especially on his own blog(!)). |

Those teams were loaded on offense and defense; played a baller's schedule, but never made it through unscathed, but top 5 both times. Just incredible talent on the field and a rather evolved Bo on the sideline. Dominant teams. |
