OT: Maize Winter Coat?

Submitted by 608Monroe on October 4th, 2022 at 10:21 AM

I feel like this topic is brought up annually (as soon as the weather changes), but Columbia needs to step up and produce a Maize-colored coat for us Michigan faithful already -- especially as it relates to Maize-outs in November.  It's just unreasonable to expect people in maize tshirts or quarter zips when its 25 degrees out.

A quick google search for alternatives produces this:

Sunice makes a nice jacket, but this one strikes me as Adidas'esque in terms of color?

So, the question remains -- what are you fine people wearing for maize-outs in cold weather?

Instead of buying a brand new coat, you can always buy a shirt that is a couple sizes big and wear it over your coat you already own. It isn't the most stylish of options but it gets the job done and will save you money.

I wear a Mammut insulated winter coat underneath a maize Michigan zip-up hoodie. Mammut makes really warm coats that aren't bulky at all and fit easily underneath a zip-up hoodie. Don't even have to size up the hoodie.

I picked up a Guess jacket last year (prior to the Bucks game) - and, received some complements both in Ann Arbor - and, at the B1G CCG as I walked around Indy prior to the game.

It looks like both Guess and Tommy Hilfiger have some options that you could pick up - or order - at Macy's.
