I was in U Towers that night. After Higgins's heroic put-back to send us to the finals the students toke over south U and started trying to tear down the several hundred pound stop light hanging over an intersection on South U. One idiot even climbed up to it using a rope. Luckily no one was successful. If they had been successful someone would have died from that light falling into the crowd. We have idiot fans also, unfortunately. |

Higgins hit the putback to beat Illinois to send us to the final. I was a HS freshman staying with my brother for the weekend. We had a great view of South U and we watched a crowd pack the streets. No cars could drive the streets. Then we watched some idiots try to take down the humongous street light hanging above crowd in the middle of the intersection. If they had been successful someone would have died. We have idiots also, but luckily not as many. |
