November 29th, 2019 at 3:56 PM ^
Is Howards 7-0 start the greatest start for a D1 first time head coach? I would find it hard to believe anyone has 3 top 10 wins in their first 7 games.
November 29th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
Edit: 2 top ten wins
November 29th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
How about 8-0 with 3 top ten wins including a win over a number one?
November 29th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
UNC, Gonzaga, and ...?
Edit: you beat me to it.
3rd top 10 win comes Tuesday..
November 29th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
The great Steve Fisher had a pretty good start, also. ..
But let me say this about Juwan Howard: John Beilein is already forgotten. And all those folks who will try to lessen what Howard has done by saying *this is Beilein's team,* no. . .no. . .this is a whole different team on offense and defense. . .this is Howard's team. And I don't believe you will see the players run out of Ann Arbor as soon as they possibly can, as they did under Beilein.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:14 PM ^
To say Beilein has already been forgotten is completely asinine. Even Juwan recognizes this.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:24 PM ^
Literally every player on his team is because of Beilein (including Wagner who Howard did a phenomenal job ultimately landing).
November 29th, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
If Beilein had quit earlier, there'd be more of them on the team. . .haha!
November 29th, 2019 at 4:48 PM ^
“Red” forgot this was a POSBANG
November 29th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
This is a stupid take... apparently you forgot that Beilein brought the program back from the abyss, and with relish.....Can't say he's forgotten. EVER.. AND THESE ARE HIS PLAYERS !!!! These are his players. Don't forget that. I'm hoping that Howard has a reunion of sorts where he brings back Beilein as honorary captain, along with maybe Fisher too....Granted, Howard has to recruit to that same Beilien level because these players are all sound, and we wouldn't be seeing what we saw, with the player quality that Beilein inherited. And I'm quite confident Howard will continue the upward trajectory that Beilien put us on.... Get ready to hear Burnett's name pop up again. Be ready for Dickinson to commit. Get ready for another player like Christopher. Get ready for recruits to come out of nowhere to show interest. It's on, folks. Howard just rocketed the program back into the Blue Blood center of the basketball center of the universe. You won't hear much of Memphis and Hardaway. It'll get replaced by Howard and Michigan.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
Haha! I knew there would be Beilein crybabies. ..
Let me put it this way, and those who can read the signs of the times will know I am right: The Beilein book is closed, and the dust is already settling on it.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
Who couldn't wait to get out of A2 on account Beilein?
November 29th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
Please go be a buckeye fan, they're the kind who would think your comment worth making. Beilein took us to the championship, TWICE, and should've won one. He took a team that wasn't already great and made them great. He got us Burke and brought us magic for a decade.
Howard's future looks great, and I'm excited, but can't you just stop and be grateful for BOTH? We're better because Beilein was here, we're in good hands now that Beilein has moved on. Shitting on Beilein is as pathetic as being a Buckeye fan, ffs.
November 29th, 2019 at 5:22 PM ^
I think we can just count ourselves lucky that we replaced a great coach with another great coach.
Comments like this are why Harbaugh said he doesn't like to compare individuals because someone ends up denigrated by the comparison. Personally, I won't forget Beilein. Those basketball teams brought a lot of good memories.
The years in between Fischer and Beilein? Now that can be forgotten.
November 29th, 2019 at 5:26 PM ^
Beilein's touch is far from over. His last gift to Michigan is Zeb. He will be Coach B's last great guard.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:28 PM ^
Steve Fisher went 6-0 and won a National Title... does that count? lol.

I loved that! What a guy he is! Clear that the team loves him.
November 29th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
I am here to eat crow and take my spankings. Before the season I said we would be an NIT team. Whoo boy was I wrong along with the AP. This team is full of ballers. Coach Howard & Team have done a fantastic job with the transition. The defense hasn’t missed a step and the offense is explosive. Love this team.
November 29th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
We are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS....of the Bahamas! Go Blue!

Compared to last year this team has a lot or height and length, and looks to be a better shooting team.

It's going deeper into the bench, giving starters more breaks. He's running the team like a NBA team - two 5s, keeping guys fresh - and it showed down the stretch the last two days.
I love it.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
And gave Simpson some breaks, and you can watch DeJulius gain confidence. Also, Wagner is going to be filthy when he’s fully weaponized. I couldn’t be happier for Howard.
November 29th, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
Wagner is crazy. When I see him on the floor, my mind thinks its Castleton. But then he drives with the speed/agility of a guard and my mind is blown.
I do wish he would dunk more instead if laying them in. It looks like he gets high enough...maybe due to his wrist he isnt dunking.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
There’s no looks to be about it. This team is absolutely a better shooting team- possibly going back more than just one year
November 29th, 2019 at 5:18 PM ^
We could very well just be on a hot streak, so who knows if we will be a better shooting team. What I can say and something I think will hold true is that we are taking much smarter shots. I think there were more "why did you shoot that" moments in 5 minutes of any given game last year than we have had all year. Granted a lot of that was poole or brazdeikis, as good as they were, launching up something that should just not have gone up.
November 29th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
Hot damn!!! Had chores to do so chose b-ball DVR. Will watch later, but SUH-WEET!!!!
