MBB Beat-down POS Bang

Just incredible.  Back-to-back thumpings of top 10 teams.  Nobody has a better resume right now.  Has anyone gone from unranked to #1?  One team should.

Bang away!!!

Great run from this team. The power of a senior Z and Teske are going to make Howard look very good in year one. Kudos to coaching staff and the players. Looks like we can run with just about anybody right now! Go Blue!

No he can't be because he was never a HC. Never you mind that NBA teams interviewed him to be a HC. Oh, and he cant recruit. Never mind he started recruiting players to Michigan when he himself was still in high school.

Sincerely,

Coach Howard and the cagers did their part in making this one of the best U of M sports weeks in a long, long time. Tomorrow Coach Harbaugh and his dudes are gonna do their part!

We are certainly aided by an experienced roster.  Look at Franz for example and how he is still getting acclimated.  Many teams have that kind of youth who are still learning vs our upperclassmen who are battle tested.

We are damn good, but I suspect teams will close the gap on us through the season as they gain experience.  We are closer to our ceiling.

Here’s something funny: when U-M hired Juwan, Mike Valenti could barely contain his derision. Your beloved Spartans are next, Shithead.

This team looks good.

Three guards that can run the offense.  Livers is Rice like.  Teske is defensive game changer and has an inside outside game that’s a credit to Juwan.  Franz is going to.grow like crazy this year.  Castleton is hugely improved.  Brooks and DDJ can get hot from three.   Z can shoot 3s now.  Johns is still out there.

This team is deep and probably better than last year.

You said it, about Livers and Rice....

And something tells me without Brooks and DDJ, we wouldn't be where we are right now.  Both of them are playing at an All BIG level.  Speaking of which, I will say again, we have five All BIG players, scattered among first, second teams and honorable mention..... Simpson, Teske, Livers, Brooks, DDJ.

I'm all in with this team, but let's hold up a touch on the comparison to Rice.  Can Livers get there?  Seems like it could be that kind of season, but you're talking about the B1G POY, all-time leading scorer in school history, and tournament MOP.  And on this team, a different player seems to be stepping up every game (DDJ, Brooks) with the big 3 being clear leaders.

Which shows you're spot on with the comment on those two.  Lost in the 3-game run is the need for Davis to play key minutes in game one, DDJ and Brooks to be strong in game 2, and the power of this team when they aren't in foul trouble in game 3.  Not to mention the reducing TOs.

The ceiling on this team is very high all of a sudden.

Has any unranked team ever beaten top-10 teams in back to back days before? What a performance! Three games against three tournament-level teams in three days! Including back-to-back blowouts of top-10 teams in back-to-back days. And hail Coach Sanderson! DDJ and Brooks never played heavy minutes in the past, but they were both playing strong at the end of their third game in three days! And Wagner played well for having such a baptism of fire for his first three college games ever.

And thank you, upperclassmen. Teske: 19 points, 15 rebounds. Simpson: 13 points, 13 assists. Livers: 21 points, 5-8 from 3. Just unbelievable! The team shot 12-23 from 3 today! Only 11 turnovers! Best team in the country right now. Go Blue!

Special shout out to Eli Brooks! A 2,000 point scorer in high school, his first 2 seasons didn’t go very smoothly. He didn’t pout and kept working. He had 14 treys last season and has 16 3 pointers already this year!
