Your Unpopular Food Opinions
What are your unpopular food opinions? I've never had a bowl of chilli that I liked, tacos are overrated and I like kale. Also, do you think there have been too many "Your unpopular opinions" threads today? If so, did this one put it over the edge of too redundant or did it happen earlier? I could eat chicken ceaser salad for most meals. The same goes for craft beer.

I agree to a point. I can drink Coors Light, PBR or even malt liquor 40s if the moment should strike.
But if you and I are at the bar together and the waitress has a $3 domestic and a $4 local craft brew, I'll spend the extra dollar for both us to have something that taste better and supports a local business.

If i go to a bar I generally drink Budweiser. Because this is America... and in America we drink beer owned by Belgian-Brazilan conglomerates.

Blimpy Burger is mediocre and a ripoff, and when they moved into the new location it went way downhill.
This coming from a guy who has probably consumed Blimpy more than 100 times in his life.

Maybe this is a mark of my unrefined palate, but I just can't stand this stuff. Simply a terrible addition to food that would otherwise be great.

We live down the block from, if you would believe it, a store devoted entirely to all things truffle. You can tell as soon as they've gotten a shipment, because the smell wafts out onto the sidewalk. It's... distinctive.

I don't eat noodles. At all. Pasta, raman, pho, chinese noodles, none of it. They all taste slimy and gross to me, and have since I was a baby.

Eating offal in a fancy restaurant is pretentious. Chocolate and fruit don't go together. Sbarro pizza is actually pretty good.

Peanut Butter Twix dipped in nacho cheese sauce - It started out as a joke to get some cheap laughs one day at lunch in high school. Turned out to be flavor combination I really dig. I don't go out of my way to try it, but I'll never turn down the opportunity when I get the chance...
Also, Brussel Sprouts and beets are delicious. Dark chocolate is disgusting.

Brownies and cookies should never have nuts
Cupcakes, like George Lucas (see movie thread), are over-rated
Truffles make food taste worse
Dunkin Donuts is pretty much the worst on earth: The coffee is muddy water, and in everything else you can taste corn in the sugar substitute.
Also, speaking as a New Haven resident, New Haven pizza is mostly mediocre.

Nuts are great by themselves or toasted in salads. That's pretty much it. They ruin everything else.

And Im lumping New Haven in that metro area.....
Its a soggy cracker with icky sweet sauce and tasteless cheese. And of course the natives claim there is nothing else but. Oh, give me a Cottage Inn Sicilian. One upside: the waist line is smaller for living in New York...
BTW: I love your avatar; I remember that SI edition - hell, it might even be buried in the garage....
