Who would you want to broadcast Michigan's games?
As the 2010 season slowly approaches, I wonder who will be broadcasting the Michigan games that are on the ESPN networks. Some broadcasting teams that ESPN throws out are great and others not so much. In my opinion a good play-by-play/color teeam goes a long way into capturing the excitement that is college football.
So my question to you all is, which broadcasting team from ESPN's 2009 lineup would you want to broadcast each Michigan game?
I vote for Sean McDonough and Matt Millen.
Looks like I'll be going to more games this year...
... sports version of ben stein, brent musburger.
The Keith Jackson team.
Woooooah Nelly! I agree. This guy coined the term "The Big House". He's just a little old. He and his voice is a college football icon. Love this guy, no homo. Throw in a young Brian Griese with him. Excellence on the air waves...
With an avatar like that, are you sure you're "no homo"?
interesting highlights where they have game film, but no permission to replay the network broadcast, so they superimpose Frank Beckmann's radio call over the video...
Bob Ufer & Keith Jackson.
Well, and maybe the Victoria's Secret lingerie models (sporting VS's new line of "tear-away" lingerie) working the sidelines:
Bob Ufer and I. I mean, thats who I'd want.
I wish Bob Griese and Chris Spielman would team up. I love Spielman despite his OSU heritage.
Would be fun watching two color analysts broadcasting a game.
Throw Madden in their while you're at it. Let's have three!
I know they are "sidekicks" but I am willing to bet that both know enough about football to be able to do the strenuous job of doing play by play announcing. Spielman has to cover for Pam Ward half the time anyways.
wow hands down Keith Jackson, man i miss that guys voice Along with Bob Griese.
I'm a big fan of Brent and Kirk. Brent was synonymous with primetime Big Ten games with me for a long while. And while Kirk isn't the best color guy, I'm not sure there is a "best color guy", especially when it comes to playing off Brent's more drunken sounding rants.
or Chris Fowler and Herbie
I might have been 13 or 14 years old, and my dad and I were watching something when Schenkel's unmistakeable voice come on the TV. It's the first, and probably only time, I heard my dad call someone a dick. HAHAHA. I still laugh when I think about it.
Lindsey Nelson! He was renowned for his huge collection of incredibly loud checkered sportcoats. (Ah, 70s fashion... got to be the worst ever.). I watched the intro to a game he did and his partner (might've been Schenkel) introduced him and asked "Lindsey, who shot the couch?"
in 3D please
Remember guys, I asked which broadcasting team from the 2009 lineup would you want to broadcast each Michigan game.
Otherwise, I would definitely hands down want Keith Jackson.
Funny. I was thinking the same thing.
...the network's top team is. That would mean the game is meaningful beyond the fanbase.
Desmond and Brian Griese giving Herbstrieet and Spielman 7 years of crap after Michigan upsets Ohio State in the shoe.
Other than Jackson, I've always liked Brad Nessler on the play-by-play mic. We seem to do well when he does the game too. He did the Capital One Bowl and this little gem
as anyone these days. Nessler/Griese would be my preference.
+1, I like the Nessler/Griese crew.
This gem too...
Might be helpful figuring out ESPN teams
That's every team to call a NCAA bowl game (does include games on NBC, Fox, Vs, CBS, etc).
How about Mario Impemba and Rod Allen....jk I would like to see this trio Keith Jackson, Brent Musberger and either Bob Griese/Gary Danielson in the broadcasting booth and Dr. Jerry Punch on the sidelines.
CHAMP JB JIM BRANDSTATTER
Keith Jackson and sidekick of his choice or the guys at 1:06 in this video -->
the Buckeye lovers themselves Brent and Herbie. I can't understand how anyone would pick them. Brent's love affair with the Buckeyes is only trumped by his senile comments at inopportune times in the action.
Brent is a Northwestern grad though...
what makes it so odd. Any CBB game he did this year with Mr. Hair Gel Steve Lavin he was sporting the Buckeye red (not scarlet trust me) which is one of the most unprofessional pieces of journalism etiquette I've seen in awhile.
Brent's love affair with the Buckeyes is only trumped by his salivating over Colt McCoy's jock
Chris Fowler, Craig James, Jesse Palmer, Erin Andrews
they did the Holiday bowl last year. And Yes Erin Andrews was a big Factor
THE_ KNOWLEDGE in the booth with a UM media intern on the sidelines.
Let's make it real!!!
It would be kind of cool for Al Michaels and Brent Musburger to announce together
Or Bob Griese
I always thought it would be interesting to have local radio personalities do the home broadcasts. Even though I'd want to hear OSU's team as little as anyone, it would still be better than the national teams orgasming over the coolest new thing/Tebow.
Local broadcasters would give a knowledgeable perspective on at least one team that's playing.
Herbstreit and Brian Griese
I am going to ignore the insistence of the OP on it being a current member of ESPN's broadcasting team, and I'm going to go with Keith Jackson instead.
