Which Part Of This Story Rankles You Most?

The part that really bothers me is that our hater fanbases (ND/MSU/OSU) and national schadenfreude fanbases (everyone else) can/will now point to Harbaugh/Michigan in the same sentence as the Self/Kansas's of the world from a cheating standpoint but without a fucking ounce of the advantages that comes with actually being a cheating program. I understand that some of you don't give a shit, but I do.

I have friends/acquaintances across the country that are fans of just about every team. I am always so proud of not being mentioned in the same category as the SEC teams, OSU, Kansas, etc while still be a very successful program. So now this "admission of guilt" for buying cheeseburgers will place us into the same category as Bill $elf/L$U bball coach/etc. literally paying players to come to play for KU.

Again, you don't have to care, I do care. I will be fucking annoyed and possibly triggered now when someone references this fucking bullshit going forward, especially if we win it all. Of course they will just be messing with me, they won't really care, but I fucking hate that I will have to even hear that bullshit.

In a way it's kinda how I felt when Obama took office from a foreign policy standpoint. I love when the rest of the world likes us. I loved watching the ROW celebrate when he was elected. (Not trying to make this a political post, it's just the best analogy I could think of wrt this situation. Please don't go down any political path).

I really enjoy or take pride in the rest of college football world knowing deep down that we are not some rogue sack of shit program like SEC/OSU/KU. Welp, now the majority will just see the headline and throw us into category instead of understand this is over cheeseburgers. THAT'S what fucking pisses me off about all of this.

The only other part that actually annoys me is Dudek being able to take some fictional victory lap in his head over this bullshit.

Not everybody is a perfect person in the world. Everyone does -- kills people, murder people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever. I mean, I just feel that people need to give him a chance.

You need an edible or something.  No one in their right mind would compare this to LSU basketball and the national media storyline on this has literally been "The NCAA is a joke."  I'm actually irritated that we self-imposed a suspension.  Should've let it ride and fought it next year.

Exactly KBLOW, I mean give me a fucking break uncwolverine, anytime someone gives you an ounce of shit, just laugh and tell them yeah right, we did super minuscule shit compared to their repeatedly corrupt programs.

And you made it political, so I will say this, Obama pissed me off when he went around the world apologizing for the USA, fuck him and I don't give a flying fuck if other countries like us, if they do that means they're taking advantage of us and laughing all the way to the bank.

One more point to add. Every program has a "Dudek". But ours is apparently the only one that decided to sing like a butthurt little bird. Can you imagine what the other SEC/OSU "dudeks" could tell the NCAA about their former programs? It would certainly involve more than a few cheeseburgers.

It is really strange that lying to the NCAA seems to be the kiss of death as opposed to the actual infraction.  Apparently, no one at Kansas or North Carolina lied.  Tressel had to go because he "lied" about knowing about tattoo-gate when he simply read the email during spring drills, saw that compliance was copied, deleted the email, and simply forgot about it.

I find it odd that at this point the standard answer isn't always, "not that I recall."

Its very simple ... the Media and the B1G has been trying to ruin Harbaugh's career at Michigan.  This is not a punishable offense and they know it.  Seriously, Tennessee gets nothing for bagmen.  Also ... does anyone even believe that any "violations" at Michigan weren't  done anywhere else ?  This is done at every school in the SEC ... during Covid when the NCAA were constantly changing the rules and even were considering cancelling the season.

It's all bullshit ... but IMO, the NCAA as it currently exists is doomed in the future.  Their bias is so evident and soon the "super" conferences will establish another governing body ... mostly for football and basketball which pays for all the other sports anyway.

I would have liked Michigan to say “fuck you” and fight it but they didn’t and it didn’t move the needle a bit so I can safely say I don’t care

If you're really upset about being perceived as a super clean program, then I guess be mad at Harbaugh and the other coaches who broke the rules. They didn't have to have lunch with the commits during a dead period. And when they did, they could have reported it before Dudek got the chance.

I guess I don't really care either way, and likely most people recognize the differences. but just saying, if always following the rules and not being considered rule breakers is important, then don't break the rules, otherwise you open yourself up to this kinda thing.

Except for one key fact: the NCAA actually gave enough of a shit about buying some burgers to try to do something about it.

Um, just don’t care when/if Michigan wins the championship? Like USC really cares they had theirs stripped for Reggie Bush? There is a difference between “cheating” (what harbaugh did) and absolutely having someone do something completely against the rules. Michigan runs one of the cleanest programs that actually have a chance of a title. The NCAA loves going after the big ten because the schools actually do care, unlike anywhere else that just says F them. Michigan wasn’t going to do that.

Also, who is this ROW person because I surely can’t figure it out.

It’s not as if without this, they would’ve expressed respect for us and now they won’t. As Emily Litella used to say, If it’s not one thing, it’s another…..

They can point to this all they want, but they'd just be showing you how ignorant they are, because it's not close to what's gone on at Kansas or other programs. It's not even apples and oranges. It's more like apples and a gallon of gasoline.

The fact that seemingly more punishment was doled out to UM over this non-story than Tennessee got for nearly 100 major violations, or the the dozen+ speeding issues Georgia players have been guilty of just this year, tells you all that you need to know about the NCAA in 2023.

As for what other fanbases say, who fucking cares?  Let OSU try to win the off-season because they can't do it during the year.

I don't particularly like it, but it is probably the sensible thing to do.

They gave the NCAA an off-ramp.   The public reaction apparently got under the NCAA's skin enough that they had to comment on the case.   So, they would be wise to take said off-ramp and let it go quietly into the night.  This is a stupid hill to die on.

If they don't, then the lawyers should be unleashed and take this all the way.

"Which Part Of This Story Rankles You The Most?"

Pretty much none of it. Besides Warde Manuel seemingly being the only person left in America that respects the NCAA's "power."

If they are comparing Michigan with Kansas, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, etc. then they are probably just messing with you. The extra practice time is actually cheating with a competitive advantage, but there’s not a college in the country (probably at any level) that doesn’t bend the time and coach limit rule.
College football is like big money banking and finance. The problem for those who get busted isn’t that they stole (or cheated) the problem is they didn’t steal (or cheat) enough.

It’s okay, it gives the foamers something to talk about on 11W other than how we steal signs, whether CJ is really just fool’s gold, how they had us dead to rights in the first half, and how platinum level Third Base will be on DoorDash when he fails again on 11/25.

Yeah, I don't really give a shit. And I've stopped talking shit about other schools' NCAA issues. Because we all know that the NCAA is bullshit. And Tattoogate at OSU was bullshit too. As was the Dantonio/Blackwell nonsense at MSU.

Because fuck the NCAA. I mean, fuck our rivals too, but a special double one-finger fuck you to the NCAA. 🖕🖕
