Jake Butt in the booth for BTN.

Stay healthy, everyone!

He first had leukemia, then played part of the 2019 season, then couldn’t play in 2020 because his school canceled the season during the pandemic. So he really hasn’t had a chance to be healthy and playing at the same time. Looks like a pretty damn good option for a 3rd string qb.

He threw that ball...  Knee might be down, but he threw the ball in CJ's direction.  He looked over there, and threw it intentionally.

Kind of like the way Mullings is dealing with being a RB right now...

It would be better to focus on the team/program at halftime rather than some primadona qb with no UM affiliation... were the Chain Smokers unavailable this time?

I would rather have them recognize the MBB & WBB teams... or the wrestling team, swim/dive, or gymnastics teams.  So many UM students & affiliates to whom they could give this time.

His affiliation to the team is Jim Harbaugh.  You know, the head coach of the Michigan football team.  I suspect nobody asked your opinion?

Do you even realize that he's here because Harbaugh set this opportunity up for him?  You don't like it, tell Harbaugh why...

I know what a prima donna is and how one acts and your snowflake bullshit look at me post 100% fits the bill.

Since you’re obviously a little dim, I’ll do you a favor and explain the relationship with UM. It’ll take a few steps, so try your best to follow along: 1) UM has a football team; 2) that team has a coach; 3) the coach’s name is Jim Harbaugh; 3) Harbaugh previously coached in the NFL; 4) one of his players was this guy named Kaepernick; 5) they are apparently friends and have a professional relationship.

There, not so hard. Maybe you can go through the second half with a little more clarity now. Also, cry harder

I'm not the one that resorts to ad hominems (and frequently as I've noticed in the relatively short time you've been on this board).

My point is that this event should be 100% about Michigan and its students - not unaffiliated pros using it for their own career advancement.

Wow, where to start?

’Short time I’ve been on this board’ - I’ve been here for 14 years, genius.

‘I’m better than you because I don’t use ad hominems’ - you called Kaep a prima donna; that is 100% an ad hominem. You also implied that I’m too dumb to understand the meaning of the word but used it anyways. If you want to play that off like it wasn’t a personal insult, you’re an even bigger hypocritical asshole than you already seem.

’it’s not Kaep or his stance, it’s just that it should only be about UM’ - this is about as disingenuous as it gets and nobody believes you. Try being honest with yourself and us about why you’re so upset about this

Final question, do you ever get tired of being wrong about everything?

My mistake about the length of time on the board - had you confused with a different poster who also gets overheated about things.  Apologies for that.

However - look at your tone & comments.  You are absolutely taking personal shots and adding vitriol to the board.  I never attacked you, even once - I simply suggested you revisit the actual definition of a word.  You decided to take it personally.

Regarding the "primadona" label - it absolutely does apply to Kapernik and I make no apologies for that.  If you choose to view that as an offense, that is your choice (and possibly indicative of your view of the definition).  Being a primadona is a characterization regarding how a person positions themselves - especially in terms of attention.  A "good" person can still be a primadona, and this trait is especially common for celebrities.

Put away your self righteous anger and instead put the attention where it belongs - on the kids.

My eyes are rolling so hard right now, they might actually fall out. I admit, I don’t suffer fools gladly and sometimes do insult people on this board. I can be an asshole to assholes and freely admit it.

What makes us different is I admit it. You on the other hand, seemingly can’t. Calling Kaep a prima donna and implying I didn’t understand the word are 100% insults, your mental gymnastics and ‘this is about the kids’ nonsense notwithstanding. If you don’t think prima donna, in the context you used, is an insult - you should open a dictionary

This is pointless and I’m done responding, but maybe you should actually think about why you’re so upset by this. It’s painfully obvious that your ‘about the kids’ rationalization definitely isn’t it.

A) who were the WRs he was working with? Maybe they were former wolverines. B) If any scouts stopped by to see him, maybe they stick around to watch the game. C) Spike Lee showed up to support Kaep. The recruiting benefits from this are obvious.

Shows that Harbaugh is loyal to his players even “after” football.
Anyone concerned about black lives in America is going to dig Harbaugh for this.  (Hint: a lot of football players are black.) Spike Lee might not be the most relevant guy these days but other celebrities and influencers will take note as well.
Harbaugh isn’t really a bleeding heart so only the most brainwashed people are going to hold it against him for any length of time.

most importantly the “satellite camp” Harbaugh is back.  Harbaugh is once again the one who knocks.  Watch out college football….

I think you, CRG, are missing the opportunity for the football team to see a proven NFL QB show them how he approaches a week in the Spring. Kaepernick mentioned lifting weights in the facilities this week and preparing for his workout today. He mentioned addressing the team and talking about the importance of getting better every day. That’s a Harbaugh mantra.

Do you think someone so new to college football like Alex Orji might benefit from seeing Kaepernick up close for 3-4 days working on football? Could that help Orji help Michigan be better?

When I played baseball we used to get the Cubs pitching staff in for a few workouts a year with us. Joe Girardi would often sit in our dugout for an early season game or two. Do you think I cared what Girardi or Kerry Wood thought, about anything other than baseball? “What can I do to get where you are???” Is all any of us were saying over and over to them.

This may not surprise you, CRG but right in Michigan’s locker room there are ALREADY very different political values and view points. It wouldn’t be new for any kid there to spend time learning and getting better from another player or coach who may vote or feel oppositional to them.

So if Harbaugh giving Kaepernick a stage to help him, which shows tremendous loyalty to a former player (hello recruits!) brings Kaepernick to the team to show how he approaches things, that’s a huge win for everyone. Today and this week is about football getting better
