THE ORIGINAL POST:
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.
Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know. I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.

This isn't news (it was already on the list) but we had a great time watching the Minnesota game at the River North Rockit in Chicago. The entire upstairs was given over to Michigan fans. They had an alumni association sign hanging up, and played the fight song after every touchdown.

Hey guys,
I haven't updated the map at all this season - we had a baby in early September, so I've been a bit busy. Would anyone else be willing/able to take over as map editor? It's not hard at all. Shoot me an email: jayloh [at] gmail dot com.
Thanks!
So, my son and I will be visiting my daughter (LSA HIstory 2012) 4 year maize rage, in Japan March 18-April 1. (It was the only time we could go!)
My personal history- LSA - 76, MBA 86 , and first started going to games while my sister was attending LSA 71.
My son, not an alumni, but the first basketball game he ever saw in person, Robert Traylor smashed the backboard.
In other words, IS THERE ANYWHERE TO SEE UM IN THE NCAAs in Tokyo, Kyoto or Hiroshima?
Help a desperate alumni out!
Just moved here looking for UMICH alum to watch the game tonight. Let me know!
SOUTH in Santa Monica
Would love to chill and chat in one of them but I am African-American...hope I would get some love :-P
Beach Castle Premium Cigars in Mary Ester Florida. Haven't caught a game there yet but talked to the owner and he is a Michigan fan as well.
When I first moved to Charlotte from Ann Arbor, the place to go for Michigan games was a bar in a non-descript strip mall far from the madding crowd of the city. But that location, Coach's, has long since been vacated for an uptown bar run by a very accommodating Michigan fan, owner of Tavern on the Tracks in a now trendy area.
It is a great place to watch a game. Unfortunately, every big game I've gone to there, Michigan has lost. The Rose Bowl to Texas, the game in 2006, even App State. So, I've just decided to watch at home and bypass the communal experience, even though there have been some memorable moments, when John Navarre and his mom showed up for the showdown with the Buckeyes, which Michigan lost. The night my son and I enjoyed tormenting my wife, a Spartan grad, when Henne and Braylon led Michigan on an incredible Halloween comeback versus MSU.
I have my season football tickets for sale. I can sell them individually or as a package.
Please email me at [email protected] and send me offers.
Thank you,
GO BLUE

Hi all,
So I think I'm aware of the name of every NYC Michigan bar at this point along with various reviews on mgoblog and Yelp, but can any locals fill me in on which might be best to go to if I'm on my own and thus not making a table reservation (for the opener this weekend)? I don't mind a crowd that's into the game (have done multiple Mich. bars in Boston & Chicago) BUT it would be awesome if there's one of the bars where I have a chance at getting a sitting/leaning spot at the bar (for easy beer access) if I arrive early. I won't have a chance to scope out bars before Sat. at noon or later.
I do want to go to a bar with other Michigan fans, as here in Providence I almost never encounter anyone with any college sports enthusiasm (much less Michigan fans) -- always make it a point when I'm traveling to get to Michigan bars.
Thanks!

in Edison, NJ (Central Jersey) is a good spot to watch games (they have a dedicated room and sound the 3-4 times I have been there).

There's always a decent contingent of Michigan fans in Huntsville, AL here:

Would someone who can please add "Village Poorhouse" in Hoboken, New Jersey. It is where the North Jersey Alumni Association is going to be holding their game watching events this fall. I would do it myself but I don't think I can (as per the map) nor do I know how to.
Thanks.

If you're ever in that God-Forsaken country (and I don't mean either of the two capitols) then try Baikonur, Kazakhstan. The several barracks-turned-hotels have the Armed Forces Network, and you can usually find a few Americans that would love to open a Piva with you and watch the game in the early morning hours.
I'd recommend the Cosmos hotel, the Sputnik hotel, the Fili or the new Roscosmos hotel that's just down the broken asphault "road".
Remember, wherever you go, Go Blue!

Anybody trolling this thread looking for a friendly Nashville establishment, a small (but hopefully growing) contingent of us meet at Bar Louie in the Gulch. They have a decent beer selection, are not overrun with SEC fans, have many TVs, and the managers are Michigan grads.
They're very amenable, and when our crowd is big enough, they'll stick us in a private room.
Oh, and sometimes the awesome cook who lived in Sterling Heights will give us free nachos. Because he's awesome.

I know this was just posted above, but the link below will help the post rank in search results:

Dos Gringos, 4209 N. Craftsman Court, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Primary watch party location
Zipps' Sports Grill, 1515 East Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ
Newer fan bar, but the attendance is picking up - Half Moon is no longer a UM bar.

I have been trying to put together a Michigan fan group in central Virginia this fall. I have a group which pretty consistently gets 7-10 Michigan fans together at the Livery Stable in Charlottesville, VA.
I know there is a permanent thread for Michigan friendly bars, and I will put this there as well, but I was just hoping to get a little bit of front page time.
I've created a facebook group called "watch Michigan Football in Charlottesville." The group is open so feel free to join to get updates on where we will meet, etc. For now, the meeting will be at the Livery Stable which is on the downtown mall. Their website says they are not open until 5, but don't believe it! They've said they will open just for us for kickoff.

Hi all! I think it's doubtful that anyone is searching for this, but I wanted to alert anyone interested that we'll be having a gamewatch at Rick's Roadhouse in the Jewelry District in Providence, RI for the Minnesota game 10/5. Right off I-95 and also accessible on foot or transit from downtown Providence or the East Side.
Lots of screens, sound, good prices on buckets of beer, good food.
This place seems enthusiastic about hosting for the remainder of the season as long as we can get a crowd this first week, so please come out if you're in Rhode Island, nearby areas of Connecticut, or Southeastern Mass.
(Yes, I am trying to throw in any regional words people might search for, since I figure that's the only way anyone will encounter this post. :)

...We are rotating to Hanley's Ale House on Pine St. in downtown Providence for the 11/2 game against MSU. This is the place that used to be McFadden's, which often drew a small group of M fans.

Apparently the two Michigan friendly bars here, The Blitz and The Upper Deck, are closed. Has any other bar become a Michigan friendly one here in Phoenix?

Bar Vittoria is a great place to enjoy a cold beer. Best part of this town is that one resident hangs a big OSU flag from his balcony while we hang the Maize and Blue from ours.
It is called The Alley Sports Tavern and it still caters to U of M. Same address.
Majors in Minneapolis is closed too.
This is very useful information shared here. I am really thankful for this.

To my surprise I just recently found out that Bullwinkle's in Miamisburg, OH (Dayton) is a big Michigan bar. Both bartenders yell out "Go Blue" when seeing my friend's UM shirt. Multiple customers also with Go Blue.
