| 14 weeks 1 day ago | Watching NCABB in Japan? |
So, my son and I will be visiting my daughter (LSA HIstory 2012) 4 year maize rage, in Japan March 18-April 1. (It was the only time we could go!) My personal history- LSA - 76, MBA 86 , and first started going to games while my sister was attending LSA 71. My son, not an alumni, but the first basketball game he ever saw in person, Robert Traylor smashed the backboard. In other words, IS THERE ANYWHERE TO SEE UM IN THE NCAAs in Tokyo, Kyoto or Hiroshima? Help a desperate alumni out!

Sammy Hagar is to Jimi Hendrix like Ryan Leaf is to Tom Brady. Seriously, there are only a few instrumentalists of the 20th century who transformed their instrument, Monk, Coltrane, Hendrix, Jaco One of my biggest regrets was not going to see Jimi when I was in high school and he was playing in Detroit. |

Give your tickets to me and I will pay for parking. Those tickets aren't worth much
or
Park at shuttle bus location, i.e. Westgate, Briarwood, etc. and take shuttle bus to game. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Breakfast, Lobster Fried Chicken |
A couple worthy breakfast destinations: Northside Grill, great quality, 60s feel, free parking, Clancy's Kosmo's Deli - eggrolls, be bim bop Bell's Diner - waffles, be bim bop, bul go gi
Miscellany: Zingermans Roadhouse - Fried Chicken - reasonably priced(for Zingermans) fantastic. What happens when you have high quality, fresh chicken, and you fry it properly Lobster Bisque - Le Dog Casey's - honest last millenium sports bar - Best sub in town - Sixth Man German Food - Metzger's ugh stripmall, but... ziquener schnitzel, spatzele Secret mexican food - La Tiende la Liberte - Tacos al Carbon $1.50 inside little latin market on liberty near FAZ Anthony's Gourmet Pizza - roasted garlic, roasted peppers, spinach and italian sausage. Expensive, but huge and top notch ingredients. Blimpy - what's better than killer onion rings, quad w/shrooms, onions, cheddar. and being humiliated by the grill nazi. bring you latex hood and ball gag and enjoy. |

2 Walter Smith I am sure you mean well, but Birth of the Cool was totally not early or late be-bop. It was post-bop - COOL jazz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_of_the_Cool That is like saying that the RR zone read was early Al Borges

| 2 years 28 weeks ago | What if DB knows Harbaugh is going to the 49ers? |
In that case how does he deal with the RR haters in the media, the fanbase, the alumni, etc. Harbaugh can't say anything until after his bowl game. If DB announces he is keeping RR before a JH announcement the haters will go totally ballistic. Then, of course it will be DBs fault that JH is no longer available, and that crushed and humiliated, he decides to settle for an NFL job. So, here is a plausible scenario for why DB could be waiting, even though RR is coming back. If the NFL theory is true, than it makes sense to wait for JH to go public, and then see what support there is for dumping one of the best offensive coaches in NCAAFB. This opens up the possibility of naming a new Assistant Head Coach - Defensive Coordinator, paid at market rates with carte blanche to run the defense. That leaves superior offense, and defnesive promise. |
| 2 years 32 weeks ago | Buyout |
My point is that UM surely read the contract before they cut a deal. UM would have made RR some dollar offer that would have been based on how much money he would get, both guaranteed and incentive. They would have calculated a net amount including any buyout affect. If that is true, and Bill Martin is a good enough businessman that they must have had all the facts, than they must have felt they had a good chance to negate the buyout. I am just saying, that this is not a negative reflection on RRs character, it is just part of contract negotiations. Some posters seem to think the buyout negative publicity is a reason to fire RR. I am guessing they would not feel the same way about "newcoach" and any buyout that could be involved. |
| 2 years 32 weeks ago | Recruiting, RR and The Jihad |
So, if there was no Jihad, how much better would RR recruiting have been? Could we have gotten 2, 4, or more good players. Could that have helped?
Oh and by the way, the fact that RR had a buyout from his WVU contract and UM tried to get around it, and let RR twist while they tried to save money, was not RRs fault. UM knew what his contract was, they have pretty good lawyers. They could have just paid it up front and that would have been totally acceptable.
I assume the Harbaugh crowd would be OK to spend any amount to get the Meechigan man and would not blame him from having signed a good contract with Stanfod |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | Clever and funny |
So Blazefire, you are responsible for the intent of this thread? So the eeeeh-Barwisian OMGshirtless gushing about this outsider Yes clever and funny, and somehow does not mention his endorsement from Pro-Life Michigan etc. So you might like the add, but this thread had definitely devolved into something else. I say, keep the fucking politics off of Mgoblog. |
| 3 years 16 weeks ago | Alumni = Someone to vote for |
I go to MGoBlog to read about sports, not politics. From the random posters I hope for at best some insight and humor. But not politics! From OT threads I hope for at least some sophomoric entertainment, but this is less than sophomoric. I want to vote for this guy because he has clever ads! or I want to vote for this guy because he went to Michigan. These guys went to Michigan also. Alireza Jafarzeda I am not saying Rick Snyder is a serial murderer, terrorist, etc. I am saying that it is stupid to vote for somebody because they went to Michigan. It is even stupider to vote for somebody because they can afford clever ad strategies. In the post "Citizens United" world we live in where unlimited corporate money can be spent on political ads, expect the slickness level of ads to skyrocket. I have no opinion about Rick Snyder but if you are interested you should ask yourself what does somebody have to sign up for to win a Republican or Democratic primary. One thing for sure, you have to suck up to the base, which is either far right or far left. If you are a straight non-political outsider wh1o is bringing a business approach to government, yet you are not running as an independent, you probably have sucked up to all the interest groups, but left your commitments out of your 10 point plan. Maybe you support the party, maybe you just like the ads, hopefully you will make your research more in line for a 400 level class than intro to poli sci. And even better - NO FUCKING POLITICS on MGoBlog |
