I'm not particularly interested in shit-talking a kid who probably worked his butt off. He justs doesn't look dynamic when you consider his competition are high schoolers from New Mexico.

Didn't he have some of the best measurables at the Opening?

"Definitely" is a strong word..Everyone has their opinion, I find AJ Dillon to be the best athlete of the 3..all are solid prospects

What about his highlights make you think that? From what I remember from his commitment post, Samuels is a pretty dynamic athlete that can be a game changer as a back in terms of speed. Does that not translate on the field?

I thought Taylor was the odd man out...he's the one who Brian said hasn't had as much contact with the staff recently.

+ RB: Najee Harris + OT: Chuck Filiaga |

You know, the one where we land all of our latest top prospects and lose none our current commits. I'd be pretty damned pleased if this is how it works out.
Sadly, I think that's how it's going to have to go if we want to hang with the likes of OSU or Bama. Hate to compare and recruiting stars aren't always what they seem but the current disparity is just sickening.
December 10th, 2016 at 4:42 PM ^
This list doesn't include Darnay Holmes, TJ Slaton, or Aaron Banks...it was just my own personal Best Guess List. Don't have Gay or Hardman or Leatherwood.
As the poster says below, it looks like one may be gone, but I'm going to stick with this 31.
Also, it does have us losing 2 guys currently committed, but 2 replacements we'd all take.
Lastly this also leave room for a surprise return player...wink wink wink wink wink. 5 winks to be exact.

Rutger Reitmaier is going to stay with oregon it seems.

from his in home visit with Wheatley a couple of days ago. If you're looking for commits likely to leave the class, I wouldn't put him near the top of the list.

Yes sounds like a slow play situation. "Don't come here to visit the same weekend as Najee...and all these other studs. See you in a month, k?"
I say slow play with the knowledge he is already a verbal but as we know verbals mean sh*****

I think the missing piece to Michigan is a dynamic RB. We haven't had someone, other than Denard, that could actaully take it to the house regualry if a lane opened up. I miss the days of having NFL QB, WR and RB all on the field at the same time.
December 10th, 2016 at 2:44 PM ^
When did we have one of those before Denard was here? Had to be 2003 with Perry.
December 10th, 2016 at 1:05 PM ^
After watching a lot of video, I actually like O'Maury Samuels better than Najee Harris. I would be pretty angry if they dropped Samuels for Harris.
December 10th, 2016 at 1:16 PM ^
Watch some video on both and report back. Najee Harris actually reminds me a lot of Kareem Walker with less speed. Don't just blindly look at stars.

I'll trust that the program that produces 1000 yard backs has done their due diligence.

Bama also knows that if you're OL is big and talented enough, it doesn't take the most talented runner to have a 1000 yard season. Example: 3* Mark Ingram.

The hubris in thinking that you know more about running backs than Harbaugh or Saban is astounding.
You know who else had great film? Sam McGuffie. Then there is that kid who played at West Virginia. Great films do not mean someone is a great player.

Everyone knew McGuffie was going to be a bust, or best as a scat-back. I don't think anyone expected him to be a traditional RB in the B10.

So Saban and Harbaugh in particular are infallible in judging both talent and how a player will turn out down the road and no other college or pro coaches, GM's or NFL scouts know anything compared to them?
Because if, in fact, maybe a few other people also know running backs, how on earth is it possible that any of them ever disagree about who to recruit, who to play, who to draft, and again, who to play, unless it's not actually an exact science and very little about the future is perfectly predictable?
Believe it or not, coaches are proven wrong sometimes and non coaches or players are proven right over them sometimes. Wait a minute, I mean my god, you're right, what hubris for a sports fan to have an opinion and even disagree with a coach! Thank god he's the first and only one!
He also should've known not to question Harbaugh at all, about anything, ever, because Harbaugh has proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, since he's been here, that he never makes mistakes or bad decisions, never runs bad plays, never fails to use every player in the best possible way at all times, no mistakes or bad decisions on clock usage, time out usage, to go or punt, to go for one or two, the best way to line up or react to how the other team lined up on a punt, & never did anything else at all wrong, not even once, not even a hint.

I just decided to take a look at temps for the hell of it. Currently it's 27 in Ann Arbor and 44 in Tuscaloosa.

44 degrees is like a frozen apocalypse for the South, or that's at least how they look at it.
