Three four-star DT's decommit from Texas

Submitted by Cold War on

A Texas source confirmed that four-star defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson (Longview, Texas/Longview) has decommitted from the Longhorns. A 6-foot-1, 318-pound Semper Fidelis All-American, Henderson is looking at other options after learning on Tuesday that defensive line coach Bo Davis left Texas for a similar position at USC.

Henderson joins fellow four-star defensive tackles Trey Lealaimatafao (San Antonio/Warren) and Courtney Garnett (New Orleans/St. Augustine) as former Texas commits. All three made their decisions Tuesday evening, hours after hearing the news about Davis.

The article being mentioned is here - (LINK

Those who have remained so far are in this quote:

The Longhorns now have three in three-star defensive end Sione Teuhema (Keller, Texas/Keller), three-star defensive tackle Jake McMillon (Abilene, Texas/Abilene) and ESPN 300 defensive end Derick Roberson (San Antonio/Brennan), the team’s top-ranked commit.

Yeah, that's not the best way to start for Charlie Strong. Per the article, Henderson was a TCU commit until the fall, then chose Texas over Baylor and TTU.

If he has any class, Bo Davis will call the kids and tell them TX is still a great place and that they should honor their commitments.

Bo Davis was hired away by USC. This class is gonna be a wash for the Horns, much like Brady Hoke's 1st class was.

I only care about this if any one of the thre recruits is looking at us as a viable option.Lord knows we could use another DT recruit. Mone is nice but Pallante is very undersized for the position. We need some beef up front and Malik McDowell appears to be looking elsewhere...

as someone else pointed out, attrition is a fact of life when there is a head coaching change.  Especially one where a lot of the assistants will probably move on also.

Also, I wonder if any of them re-commit which is often common.  In addition this is one of the reasons I don't think we need to fire our coach every season we don't get 10 wins.  I wonder if at least one get brought along to USC, wouldn't shock me.  Or are they still out of scholarships out there? I honestly haven't paid attention.  LOL Kiffin is all I've heard about USC for the last year, until his firing.
