Submitted by Canadian on
Hey gents, just sitting at a bar drinking away after a golf tournament and figured if try out my first drinking thread.... It's a light beer kind of day (8 CLIT's on the course) now on to shock top at the bar.

Tipped a few too many back last evening, so I'll be sticking to water and pop for the day, thank you. Just in case any of you didn't already know, puking is not the ideal way to start out a Sunday.

I drank a 6 pack of Southern Tier Hop Sun and 4 Founders Centennial IPA's last night. Thus far today I've been drinking Powerade Zero and water.

Rhinegeist (Cincy brewery) Zen -- a session IPA. (Almost) all the taste of a "regular' IPA, much less alcohol content. Yeah, I know...but it's back to the grind tomorrow.

Orange juice. Good morning, all. Perhaps eating chilli cheese fries at Steak and Shake at 5:30am wasn't a good idea.

I'm enjoying a Bean Flicker right now. Love it. My mind is having a hard time believing that the taste its sensing is coming from a beer that looks like a blonde. Great stuff though.

I have had a good afternoon - I logged my first on-screen time in nearly a decade, and although it was only a cameo and for a webseries (a funny webseries), I enjoyed playing the role of a public employee who takes his job a little too seriously, possibly because I was able to draw from people that I actually know in such a role.

I just got home to my kids watching "The Lego Movie", which I now apparently own On Demand, an action which made me $20 poorer. Oh well. I poured an Angey Orchard Traditional Dry and sat down while the steaks cook.

Get it while you can. 2 beer store owners told me Stone is being sued by A-B/InBev because they had a beer with "go to" in the name like 20 years ago. Stone has to halt production and will not be distributing until this is settled.

But according to what I was told they still are unable to ship what is currently packaged as "go to" until this is settled. On the east coast it's already hard to get this in cases. A hold up in distribution is not going to help its availability. And big beer doesn't sue for the money, they sue to prevent craft beer from being distributed and taking up shelf/tap space.

from San Diego. I will drive to Escondido. or I'll substitute Societe or one of the other 150 places out here. but I do like the session IPAs in general. so many good beers across the country now, but SD has some great stuff that keeps my beer fridge stocked.

Seriously?  Fuck AB/In-Bev.  They are so butthurt real beer is growing.  It's still only at what, 7.5% of the market, but they are so goddamn scared they are resorting to pitiful tactics to keep the "small" guys down.  It ain't going to work.  Fuck them.
