I dislike all the people saying that Beilein is mismanaging the roster. Out of everyone in the world who are the two that know the most about Spike's ability to play right now? We know that Spike isn't going to be better than Derrick, and for all we know Spike's hips are a ticking time bomb. Why would you keep a guy that either forces our true freshman to wait a year to play, or is the third string point guard when you have other needs. We don't have a real 4, we lost Dawkins which was needed depth on the wing. If Beilein feels we need more depth elsewhere I'm with him.

I liked Spike, a lot, but you have to think there may be issues with his mobility after having surgery on both hips.  If the Michigan staff believed he would be a major contributor, they would have offered him a spot on the team.  If not, it's very reasonable to consider another, younger option.  We can't have it both way - demand excellence from the team and have angry feels for every player who moves on.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Spike spend decent minutes on the bench next season.  Wish him well in life though!

well, the track record isn't exactly stellar after letting max leave last year only to be a solid contributor on indiana's conference title team...while our big guys were pretty much a liability 95% of games

I wish the best for him, but this is exactly the scenario that Beilein talked about when he was restricting his transfer options. You coach up and train a guy for four years, and then he goes and play for an in-conference opponent.

I'm always for siding with the player's best interests, but damn, come on.

Oh man, if I could see one person in real life, from this blog, it would be you. I have such a hilarious image of you in my head from all of your ridiculous posts, they always seem to be compensating for something...I can't stop laughing imaging you....I'm sorry....

Average in almost every way.  Height, weight, income, looks, etc.

Not sure what you're referring to with my "ridiculous posts".  I like to make people laugh.  And if you picturing me as some pathetic loser compensating for his tiny penis makes you giggle like a little girl, then my work here is done.
