jokingly cursing me via text that we may have saved Pelini's job...In this way, our staff  is happy to help not one(us) but two(incuding Nebraska) stay irrelevant

It pains me to write this but if I take anything from Borges it is stubbornness.

We have become a relic. An artifact in a museum that no one visits in a world filled with entertainment and innovation.

Our leadership allowed Carr to stay just a little too long. We hired a spread coach and offered no support. He did not recruit enough defense and not enough offensive lineman. Our leadership hired Rich Rod without gathering the proper support and backing from the donors and fan base. Non-football people made football decisions.

And now we are at a crossroads. Hoke had a great first season with Rich Rod's players. The team struggled the second year as to be expected. Year three had more expectation. Not National Championship aspirations but winning our side of the B1G and possibly going to the Rose Bowl. What will our leadership do? Will they stay the course when there has been obvious regression? Will they make a change, especially at OC, to stop the regression?

Fan bases that continually say "one more year" are usually waiting until eternity. See Tennessee, Notre Dame, Texas now. This is the difference between us and the SEC. Us and Ohio.

This is exactly right.  No next year, we need to fire hoke today and get a proper coach here. Doesn't matter if he a michigan man or not.  but he needs to have a amazing resume to get the keys to this program

I have to agree about the coaching resume.  Too me, handling the keys over to a coach from SDSU, who had not won his conference seems like a premature move from the AD!  If Hoke had gone on to a bigger program or had SDSU in a National Championship discussion (i.e. Kelly at Cinci, Kelly DII Nat'l Champion, Meyer @ Utah/Florida, Saban @ LSU, Tressel @ Youngstown DII Nat'l Champion, etc.) then I get the selection.  I was slow to come to the conclusion that Hoke would ever be a better choice than Miles, but the first season swayed me.  Looking back, I think it was smoke and mirrors!

I am not saying I would prefer any of the coaches mentioned above, so don't jump on the names.  The point is the resume.  They had distinguished themselves before taking on a program like Alabama, OSU, ND, or Florida).  It wasn't based on turning around a bad MAC or WAC team.  They weren't position coaches or delegators.  They were exceptional defensive or offensive minds that were engaged in one or both sides of the ball.

It may still be possible that Hoke shows he has the leadership to make the necessary changes and "fixes this", but my confidence sure is shaken.

I was there too, and I thought the loud booing of players was poor. I know they were probably booing the play calling but I'm sure Derrick Green didn't see it that way. Go ahead and boo taking a knee - that's clearly on the coaches. But don't boo players.

The booing was clearly directed at the coaching and the terrible play calling.  It was building throughout the game and was heard everytime they ran on 1st and 2nd down.  Coaches continuously put the offense in 2nd/3rd and long situations with the poor play selection.

Dave Brandon hired Hoke because Hoke bleeds maize and blue. He didn't say it outright, but he implied that Jim Harbaugh came across as an arrogant ass and wanted to know what Michigan and Brandon could do for him, hence Brandon moved on and landed Hoke.

At this point Brandon needs to put his tail between his legs, give Jimmy a call and say, "I've got $100m from Stephen Ross and a football program that needs your guidance. Please come back and help your alma mater."

They are regressing at an incredible rate. That is all on the coaches and nothing more. It is one thing to have youth, but to get worse every game is unacceptable.

I saw Taylor miss a lot of blocks today.  Is the scheme that much more complicated?  I really believe he is not close to being the tackle of last year.

What's great is that one can just google Brady joke and see his performance at all his previous stops. Before he arrived here as a coach, he only had three winning seasons out of eight (7-6, 12-1 and 9-3)What in that resume screams that he could be a successful coach at this level? This is that "good ole boy" network at its best. I refuse to believe that they could not find a coach with better coaching credentials. We are seeing the results of a poor coach. Dave Brandon and his greed will ultimately have to answer to this.

What is amazing is how much Hoke makes per year. He makes more in one year than most do in 10 years. Yet while average workers are fired afer only a couple of months of incompetance- Hoke gets 4-5 years to prove if he knows what he is doing. Its an amazing disparity. I have never bought into the idea that if a coach is fired quickly that it will scare off good candidates. There must be a great many people who can coach better than Hoke and they would jump at the chance for 5 million a year.

Hoke makes 2x what Dantonio makes.  While most wont admit it publicly 90% of UM fanbase would take Dantonio in a second over Hoke.  Can you imagine what he would do with the type of talent UM gets?  Oh wait we saw in 2002 what he would do.

I really don't want to call for Hoke's head, as I really like the guy, and he's the perfect representative for the University. I want him to be the guy. But I really have to question his ability to lead this program after these past few weeks.

I'm still okay with giving Hoke another year to prove himself, unless we potentially lose out, get shellacked by OSU, and lose to a lowly MAC team in the Pizza Bowl. Then my attitude might change. But if this experiment with him ultimately fails, I wonder if DB will fly himself out to SF, get down on his hands and knees, and offer Harbaugh however much money and control he wants.

Sadly, college football is a business these days. And if you want top results, you're going to have to pay for them.

Is it just me or did we severely underestimate how much Denard meant to this offense the past few years. As he progressed as a player so did the teams win-loss record over the past few years.
