I'm sorry. I really am. But "Music City" is Nashville, and UT is in Knoxville.

Actually, TN has three unique regions between Knoxville, Nashville, and Memphis. When the state was founded, they put 3 stars on their flag to represent these regions. #TheMoreYouKnow

it represents East, Middle and West Tennessee, of which those cities are a part of those regions.
In 1905 when the flag was introduced, Chattanooga wasa slightly larger city than Knoxville.

Maybe they have a really nice School of Music
December 7th, 2016 at 5:52 PM ^
but they are in the music city.
December 7th, 2016 at 5:05 PM ^
Tennessee is playing in it.

Made the trip over thanksgiving break, defintely not close to each other. That would be like calling Detroit "Beer city USA" in reference to Grand Rapids.
December 8th, 2016 at 11:15 AM ^
I'm sorry. I really am. But... Grand Rapids' established nickname is "Furniture City" because more of the largest office furniture companies are based there.

It's become boring to bitch about millennials, but those rings kinda play right into the meme.

If Tennessee gave out those rings in 1966 or 1996 the exact same complaints would have been made about kids these days.
Industrial revolution: "This generation wants to work through their collective childhood indoors! What a bunch of entitled wusses."
December 7th, 2016 at 5:15 PM ^
You do realize that those rings were a photoshop and not real right?
Otherwise you're playing into the meme that people believe everything they see on the internet.
December 7th, 2016 at 6:55 PM ^
Even when easily debunked, people remember what they first heard the most easily.
December 7th, 2016 at 5:44 PM ^
it's never boring making fun of babies that need a "safe space" on college campuses in case they see a Halloween costume they find offensive
December 7th, 2016 at 6:13 PM ^
I wonder who raised those cry babies... Oh right the same people that whine about them.
December 7th, 2016 at 6:36 PM ^
I always find it weird when people whine about other people being whiney.

Small quibble: the music city kids would be more of a reference to Vanderbilt. Knoxville is three hours away from Nashville.

Is Nebraska upset that they're playing in the Music City Bowl though. UT fans were planning on getting into the Sugar bowl. I live between Knoxville and Nashville and have co-workers who have said they wouldn't go to the game if they were given tickets.

Lol at Music City Kids. That's like calling The University of Miami the Disney Land Kids.

Well, if a thread from yesterday is any indication, it might be that - as strange as this will sound - some people find Jones' fake personality attractive, because from what I understand, it cannot be his actual personality. The attraction of inexplicably going 8-4 despite being horribly overrated cannot be underestimated either.
December 7th, 2016 at 6:14 PM ^
Unless I am missing something, they finished 8-4, including a loss to Vandy for their last game. The Vols lucked out for the first half of the season and won several games late in the game. Jones has recruited well but so far has little to show for it, although they had lots of injuries on their D line.

Nashville is music city. UT is in Knoxville on the eastern part of the state. Just FYI to the op
